Please look into donating it. I am donating mine to Brides Against Breast Cancer because there is no Brides Against Pancreatic Cancer.

This selfless gesture will allow someone who has so many more challenges in their life to enjoy your beautiful gown for their day.

I am sure there are lots of other organizations to donate to. I was unfamiliar with them til recently and thought I would educate you guys who may be unfamiliar like I was.

Thanks for considering it!:goodvibes

Does it matter how old the gown is?
Mine is a spring 2009 gown, but still in fashion. I can't imagine my daughter...that I don't even have yet...wanting it in what 30 years?!?

I'm not the OP, but I'm absolutely positive a gown from a year or even 3-4 years ago would we welcomed! :goodvibes

I donated my original wedding gown 19 years ago to a gown sale benefitting a woman's shelter and can honestly say I've never regretted it! It's a great way to pass a lovely dress on to someone else who otherwise might not be able to afford it and benefit a great cause in the process! :thumbsup2

I wish I had known about these types of programs and donated mine. It has been in a box in the closet for 23 years. Would it be considered vintage if I donated it now? Just kidding. I know puffed sleeves would not cut it.

I donated my gown after 10 years of lugging the box around when we moved. Styles change, but I would think all gowns would be welcome. Many times folks will buy an older gown and remake it. My gown was ivory satin and I'm sure if someone wasn't fond of the style, there was enough fabric in the skirt to refashion it.

While I was sad to see the gown go, I was happy to think that it would help others.

What a great thing to do!!!!! I don't have a dress yet, but I will be doing this after our wedding! :goodvibes
