are you following a particular program? What is the basis for you eating program? Thanks!

If you'll take a look at the DIS WISH Challenge thread, , you'll see where each one of us has taken the DIS WISH challenge. Most of us have introduced ourselves and described what we're doing to lose weight here.

You'll find pretty much every weight loss strategy you can imagine described here, but I think you'll find that most of the WISHers who are successfully and consistently losing weight are following either Atkins or Weight Watchers programs.

You rule. I read your oter post.

I'm doing Atkin's Diet. There is a direct link to some Atkin's information in my signature below.

You can do it.

God bless, best wishes, and encouragement, RaySharpton:)

MJS.......to me, other than the,"Is it a healthy diet" question, I think there is one VERY important question you have to ask yourself after you've investigated all possible (for you) diets.

Which one can I live with FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE?!

This is where I went wrong before. I decided to do a low-fat, high exercise diet. Well, I lost the weight. Yup, I was 126 pounds. Then I went back to eating all the things I couldn't live without, regular salad dressing, half and half in my coffee, Buffalo wings, burgers smothered in cheese.....you get the picture. And ofcourse I stopped exercising. Yeah, you guessed it. Let's just put it this way, I have over 100 pounds to lose.

For me, I can tell myself that I can only have one potato a month or pizza every once in a while, but I can't live without butter and cream and cheeseburgers(without the bun ofcourse ;) ). But for some, they can give up the fat and couldn't live without a bagel every morning for breakfast. It's all in what YOU want.

I guess I feel lucky that I've found a way of eating that works for me and allows me to lose weight without feeling deprived. Basically I've found my body cannot handle sugar. If I eat too much I'll either stall my weight loss or gain - but if I'm good and avoid it in great quantities, exercise, and up my veggie count than I'm good. I've been losing on average about 1.5 lbs. a week and am still able to eat pizza once a week so I think that is pretty good. I usually try to have a high protein breakfast and lunch and only have carbs in the evening. Not exactly atkins but I could never give up my bread so it works for me. As Pam said - the biggest thing is to find something you can actually live with long-term not just for a couple of months. We're all different so try a couple of things until you find what you're comfortable with and then take charge!!
