I really really need to go back to WDW, but I will probably have to go alone. Fine by me, but I would prefer to go for about 2 weeks as the airplane ticket and park tickets (fun in the sun pass) will already cost me more than 800 USD. I don't have much money as I am a student. Therefore, it is way to expensive to go to a Disney hotel, even All Star. Other hotels nearby aren't much less expensive and I won't be having a car, so I can't stay too far away. I was thinking about staying with someone who lives close to WDW. The only thing I would need is sleep, being able to wash myself and transportation in the morning and in the evening. I would pay a certain amount of money ofcourse. Any other info to solve my problem is welcome as well. I guess there aren't any youth hostels nearby?

Hi European!! Welcome to the CB!!! After doing a little research I found a website for you to check out.

http://familyfun.go.com/travel/places/feature/famf47hostelfl/famf47hostelfl.html

This site talks about a hostel 5 miles from WDW that offers shuttles to the park and the price is only $17 with tax a night. That would bring your total hotel bill to only $238 (American) for 2 weeks.

The link to the hostel doesn't seem to work, but maybe you could call the phone number??

It seems ideal for me, thank you so much! I asked them for some extra information. I guess now it's time to find out if other people have stayed in that youth hostel before.
Btw, the link didn't work indeed, but I searched for that youth hostel on the 'Hostelling International USA' site. There was a directory with a link: http://www.hiorlando.org/. There's an e-mail addres as well.

Glad to be of help!! :) Sorry I have never stayed there, nor do I know anyone who has stayed at that particular hostel (or any hostel for that matter). I would assume however (and you know how much trouble that can be ;) ) that since it was featured in the family fun magazine (a fairly respected magazine in the states, which I think...someone can correct me if I am wrong...that they are in fact owned by the Disney Corp.) that it would have to be more than decent. Good luck in your trip planning, and I hope you have a great time. I know you didn't get many responses to this question...well none other than me ;) but please do not fear posting questions or comments here on the CB or anywhere else on the boards. The DIS is a great place for information, and often people are very willing to take it upon themselves to help you search out an answer!!
