For those close to their 180...

We grab Ohana's first. Crystal Palace is also on our must do list for lunch. Otherwise we are trying all new things next trip!

That's exciting! My kids always want Chef Mickey (ugh!), other than that, I'm making them try all new things, too! What new stuff are you going for this time?

Maybe try to get them to a different character meal with Mickey? Tusker House breakfast is good!

We are trying Cape May breakfast and dinner (different days), Sanaa, Beaches and Cream, and the Yachtsman. Maybe small plates at Trader Sam's. I'm hoping to get a reservation for Tiffins when/if they become available up. Currently we have 3 nights left without ADRs, I haven't decided what to do with those yet!

We actually like Ohana's so much we're doing it twice this trip :)

We did Cape May breakfast last time and I got them to skip Chef Mickey. They keep saying they "need" it this time! Maybe I'll try to convince them of Tuskar House. Good suggestion!

I would really like to do breakfast at Ohana, DD and I both love Stitch, but DH hates breakfast so it was hard enough to talk him into Cape May! He's only doing that since it's at our resort. Maybe DD and I should go and leave him to fend for himself :)

Well two weeks ago I made my twelve ADR's and I made sure I got my signature ones first ( five ) But Jiko is our all time favourite so I was happy to get that one under our belt right away..

I booked my trip inside of 180 days...plus FD will overlap (ugh)...but right now the biggies I booked first were Tusker House breakfast and Teppan Edo dinner. Not sure what nest (none of us were impressed with BOG dinner, so skipping it completely).

CRT late breakfast, Ohana bfast one day and dinner another day, H&V Minnie Dinner (possibly w/ fantasmic package), BOG dinner... Those are the important ones

Our 180 is May 12. My two biggies are Be Our Guest for lunch on our first MK day and 'Ohana dinner at our preferred time.

We just passed our 180 day mark. California Grill is always the first ADR I grab. This trip I also got Tusker House for a pre-gate breakfast, The Boathouse for dinner and San Angel Inn for a very late lunch. We'll flush out the trip with a few more as we get closer.

Whenever I plan any pre-gate ADR I try to have that be one of my first nabs. On the extra special trips we go to Victoria & Albert's I am on the phone with their dedicated line as soon as it opens.
For our February 2017 post Cruise trip, Le Cellier will be one of the first ADR's I book.

I never knew about the Golden Spoon. I just filed out the list. I am at 40%. Now to figure out how to add my spoon to my sig line.

I'm going to be trying for the Hollywood and Vine Minnie Dinner, too! Tell me about the Fantastic package? Does that cost extra? What's included?

Good luck! Last time we did BOG lunch was when they were just rolling out the lunch reservation system. Now, my kids just don't love the food, so we have skipped it for a few years. Is that a hard one to get for lunch?

How do you know park hours? I saw some guesses online, is that what you're going by? Or, have the hours been officially released?

I'd also like to know about the Fantasmic dinner package.
I'd also like to now, if booking a dinner package for Fantasmic would I do it on line, just as I would book any dinner? Or would I have to call on the phone (what number??) in order to book the package?

Thanks so much,

Karen

I am by no means an expert so maybe someone else can weigh in. But, my understanding is that it does cost slightly more. There's a thread on the restaurant board that gives all the prices of the buffets and character meals and according to that, the price for just regular dinner is $51.12/adult and $30.89/child and for the Fantasmic package it's $58.58/adult and $36.21/child. What my understanding of what's included is that you get access to a dedicated seating area for the Fantasmic show. I think you can do it online at your 180 day booking window. We will be on the dining plan and I think (but definitely would appreciate clarification here) that it still would only be 1 dining credit if you use the dining plan. Here's think link to it on Disney's website so this may offer some more clarification.

Celina, thanks so much for the link. I read the info but am now more confused...:guilty:. So when you go online and book Brown Derby, Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine how does the system know you want to book the package for Fantasmic as opposed to just booking a dinner?
Also, which one of these restaurants is the Minnie"s Holiday Dine at?? Is Minnie's Holiday Dine a restaurant that is participating in the Fantasmic package?
Ugghhh, the more info I have the more confused I get :headache:

Thank you all again,
Karen

I want BOG for pre park opening, Ohana for dinner, Cape May Cafe dinner, Akershus Dinner, and 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. And maybe BOG lunch also to maximize our DDP. Any Advice on which to try and go for first? I guess probably BOG pre park opening because I would love to get an early start. Then which? I haven't been to disney since I was like 16, and you didn't need these crazy reservations like you do now :-/

It books up fast. Last year I used one of the now-defunct sniper services to get it.

You have a lot of good ones listed there! I'd try for the BOG PPO first. Another trick is to to the hard to find meals later in your stay because those days have opened up to less people. From what I've seen (because I'm looking for it, too!) is that Akershus also books pretty quickly. Good luck!
