Hello, I have thinking about the best time to buy, so I decided to make you, the DVC veterans, this question:

Does anybody think or know if the incentives for the BLT could be even more "sweetened". Or the $5 discount per point and the developer points will be the sweetest we will see???

Thanks

I like the deluxe hotels, so I am interested in knowing if any of the DVC members that share information with us here, has had an experience in any of the concierge collection resorts, or if as I have heard, those are almost imposible to get..............

Thanks

You question is one that can only be speculated on unless someone in upper management signs on to the DIS.

Other posts are suggesting that pricing will increase in 09. If that is true, it is probably due to construction costs going up and DVC needing to increase price to ensure they delivered a promised ROI to big Disney.

There may be a chance that prices will fall if you Disney Corporation needs a quick injection of cash to meet free cash flow targets, but again, Disney wont be announcing that to us so that we can wait for that to happen. Also a quicker short term cash grab could be made with Disney offering even sweeter hotel, park pass and food packages to everybody.

My bet is DVC will not offer substaintially better packages (maybe more developer points if sales stagnate or maybe even annual passes if sales are really bad) than what the initial release package presently is for BLT and what the present package is for AKV. Just like everything else in life, costs always go up in the long term.

Who knows? Anyone can speculate. DVC recently reduced the incentive for AKV and there is a rumored AKV price increase on the horizon.

Thanks so much for your answers, what you say is very reasonable, and as BLT has an excelent location, it is hard to think sales will fall. But, due to the economycal situation, maybe the new buyers would be less, but I guess most of the already members are thinking in add-ons for BLT, for me the best located DVC resort, even when AKV looks pretty good!!!

It could go either way.

Disney could also offer promotions that cost them very little cash, and are less valuable to you - for instance Developer Points have worked well for them - cost them almost nothing in a down economy - some people love them, but they are only useful if you can use them.

They could offer a few years of free passes for people buying now - that would "cost" them in revenue, but it isn't a huge deal.

They could also hold off on finishing the floors in the resort while the economy slows - SSR was built in phases with construction slowing down and speeding up in response to sales. Thats harder to do in an occupied resort rather than in SSRs individual building case - but it can be done.

I doubt you'll get much better than the current, plus if you wait, you'll lose potentially a year or two of usage. If a better deal is what you're looking for, consider other locations realizing you may not get into BLT very often, esp for a MK view room. If being able to afford it is the issue, then it's likely better to wait and/or consider other options.
