There is a website called coastercounter.com that keeps track of the coasters you've ridden as well as ranking them etc. etc. etc. (just saw King and I, haha) that I thought some of you might enjoy. DS, 14, has now ridden 110 coasters and likes to keep his accomplishments organized on this site.

Cool site, but I have one complaint. It classifies dueling coasters, like Gwazi or Dueling Dragons, as one coaster, instead of two.

I think that that is something that they are in the process of working on. Gwazi is only really one coaster since the turns are just reversed. Dueling Dragons should be two though.

Cool site! Thanks for posting. I thought I had ridden alot of coasters but I see now I have more work to do. Better start planning a trip!

FYI, Gwazi is two completely different tracks. Ride both sides again and make not of how every hill and turn is different. I've seen overhead photos as well, you can find some on the web somwhere. They are most definitely two distinct and different coaster tracks.

Enjoy!

Excuse me buddy. Gwazi tracks are very similar. Look at the part after the 5th flyby after the station. They are mirrored. It pretty much is like that the entire ride. After the 4th flyby, the only difference is here. Tiger goes into some low, sweeping turns, while Lion goes into an extra camelback.

I saw the drawings before it was built and watched the progres of the contruction, and there was a great website with aerial photos. Plus I've ridden each side of Gwazi dozens of times. After the first drop the rides are not the same at all, they are not mirrors at all. The only other hill that is similar is the fly-by hill by the station. The profile and layout is different on every other part of the ride.

I have to agree. I saw the model before they built it and I've also rode on it several times, and there's definitely differences in the layouts

Yes they are different. They are basically the same layout, with one turn being different.

The two sides of Gwazi begin by leaving their station and traveling around 180-degree curves to the lift hills. The lion and tiger climb up to 90-foot lift peaks and round curves before descending down the first plunges. At the bottom, passengers onboard the two sides find themselves speeding straight towards each other at the ride's maximum 50 mile-per-hour speeds. With only feet to spare, the two trains bank in opposing curves and take on 180-degree Fan Curves in opposite directions and then go head-to-head again in a second ferocious fly-by. After each rounding 315-degree banked Carousel Curves, the Tiger and Lion tracks wrap around each other and then begin seperate courses. The two courses meander in seperate directions around the outskirts of Gwazi's territory, but then head towards each other once again and perform another fly-by over the station area. The wooden tracks curve through right and left-hand banked Carousel Curves and head under the lift hill structures to begin a final fly-by track. Entering the final brake runs, Lion and Tiger curve around back into the station.

Didn't realize it was such a big deal.

Very cool site damo! I have ridden...15 different coasters...not bad for a family who'd go to one themepark per year (until recently ;)) and it was always the same themepark...Busch Gardens Tampa! I remember when Gwazi was being built...I was there for my 5th grade end-of-the-year trip and got to see it in construction. Saw the model as well.
I have only been to themeparks out of state twice...Six Flags Georgia and Six Flags Over Great America or something like that. I think I went on a rollerocaster in Illinois, but I don't remember. I do remember thinking it was terrible and my family (uncles, aunts, cousins) and I left early...only in the park for a few hours, and most of the time just sitting and talking. What a waste of money!
But anyway, I feel coaster-deprived. :p
