? for spa/hot tub owners

Have your or do you ever use those scented packets for your spa?

Do you find them leaving a residue of any kind?

Also how often do you shock treat your spa?

Our pool was just finished last week.. and the spa was installed as well (acrylic not part of the pool). We didn't get a lot of instructions with the spa system... so I am curious how others take care of theirs.

We've had our Sundance spa for about 2-3 years now and we both use it every day. I think it really depends on how often you'll be using it. I shock ours every 2 weeks and put chlorine in every week. You'll have to test the water more frequently to begin with and then you'll get on a routine.

As far as your other question, we've never used scent packets.

I have used the scents with no after effects. I don't use them everytime though

We have used the scent packets, with no ill effects. If you find a fragrance you really like, you can purchase larger-sized bottles as well.

We have had our tub since June and we have not shocked it. Maybe I had better call the pool place and see how often we should be doing that.

We've also had ours since June. It's a Thermo Spa. I do the weekly maintenance (recommended by them) on Saturdays, which includes 3 oz of the activator or if I choose I can use the chlorine. The next day I add the Natural and Clear.

In the beginning, it took me a while to get the hang of all the chemicals.

I'm going to try the scented stuff next order!
