?? for recent magic cruisers

For those of you that have sailed in the last month or two, could someone please tell me if jackets are still suggested for Lumiere's on casual nights? I have read conflicting reports, some say that has changed now, and is no longer suggested, while others say it is still is in place.

Of those who went recently, did you see mostly jackets in Lumiere's on casual night, or casual, i.e. golf shirts and khakis type clothing.

We sailed on 1/4 on the Magic and Jackets were not required for Lumiere's on non formal nights. People mostly wore dockers and polo shirt type clothing. There are always a few that buck the system with shorts and tanks tops, but thank God they were few and far between!!!

I believe they took away the requirements for Jackets at Lumiere's a few months ago....I remember one of the webmasters mentioning it. My hubby brought only one suite and wore it both formal and semi-formal with a different shirt and tie. He also packed two pairs of dockers and about 5 or 6 polo/buttom up shirts. The rest of his suitcase was just shorts and t's amd swim trunks for the rest of the cruise. Don't forget the tropical attire for tropical/mexicali night!!

Thanks for the quick info. That is great news. I like to follow the dress guidelines, (would never consider shorts or tanks at dinner!), but also hated the thought of packing both a sport coat and suit for my husband.

We are going to try to get Palo's reservations for Thursday, which is semi-formal. That day works out best for our schedule, and it happens to be semi-formal night, so we would be dressed up anyway, so no need for a sport coat!

2 days 10 hours to go till we fly!!!

Have a great cruise and tell the Cruise Staff that the Carlos and Charlie gang from New York on the 1/4 Magic cruise say hello!!!

We are all still in post cruise depression....have a fantastic time and think of us poor DIS'er here in the continuing cold!!!
