For real, is Le Celier lunch 1 TS credit or 2?

I keep trying to get a Le Celier lunch ressie for our visit in February, but they aren't booking lunch during that time yet (though each time I call I'm assured it will be "soon" - which is fine, no big deal since it's a fairly slow week).

When I called this morning, the rep told me what I'm used to hearing -- "Le Celier hasn't loaded lunch times for those dates, etc" and and said "but you could consider making a dinner reservation at the same location - though it is 2 TS credits instead of 1." I explained that we already have a dinner reservation made in case we can't get a lunch, and asked if it lunch was really going to only be 1 credit in 2013 because my understanding is that it would be 2.

She assured me that no, there was misinformation printed in some spots and that it's 1 TS credit. :scratchin

The dining PDF clearly says 2 credits. The Le Celier page clearly says 1 credit, and the rep this morning said it's 1. So which is it, do we know "for sure"?

Funny - "printed in some places" was a full press release a few months ago - maybe they got back lash and are changing thier minds?

According to the printed Disney Dining Plan brochure, lunch will be 2 credits in 2013.

Either the brochure is wrong or the phone agent is wrong, and my money's on the phone agent being wrong.

The webpage too - there are a lot of problems with the webpage as far as its being accurate on dining credits.

Not to throw a monkey wrench in, but as I was scouting for a lucky reservation in two weeks I noticed something. When you go to the "View Participating Dining Plans" sections for Le Cellier, not only does it say that it will take two TS credits for lunch but ALSO that you CANNOT GET IT AT ALL on the regular dining plan. They do not take regular dining plan credits at all for lunch or dinner for 2013.

In order to eat at Le Cellier on the dining plan you would have to upgrade to the DxDDP. I took a screen shot of it; it isn't a mistake.

edit edit edit:

Also, checking a few other places we are going: It is the same for the California Grill, Cinderella's Royal Table and others.
The brochure at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...alog/WaltDisneyWorld/en_us/PDF/2013Dining.pdf says that CRT and CG are good on the dining plan for two credits. Yet the reservation websites says no, only those on the Deluxe, Premium and Platinum plan can be used there... The brochure is dated July 5, 2012. The website has to be new within the last day or two because it didn't say it yesterday when I was on there.

Is this how they are going to make it more "deluxe" and address some of the comments I've seen on here with people (right, wrong, or indifferent) complaining about the category of people coming to the signature restaurants?

That's really interesting. It's possible that those specific restaurants have decided to only be included on the higher tiered plans due to demand. They know they'll be able to fill up either way, so they don't "need" dining plan participants. It's also possible that they've changed the way they deal with credits. Somewhere along the line, someone loses money. It's never been clear to me how Disney "pays" the restaurants when dining credits are used.

1) If the guest doesn't order one of the more expensive things on the menu in addition to a flavored beverage and dessert, they'll lose money for that meal.
2) If the guest does order the most expensive things on the menu, and the "cost" of their meal outweighs the "cost" of a dining credit:
a. and the restaurant only receives a set price for every dining credit redeemed, the restaurant loses money.
b. and Disney gives the listed value of the menu items to the restaurant, Disney loses money.

All said, if that's truly the case, then the Standard Dining Plan has lost all value for me as an option, unless I ever go on a trip that is made up entirely of character meals.

I doubt it has anything to do with the "quality" of people in Disney restaurants, because everyone's money is worth the same. I suppose it COULD be possible that they've noticed a trend that Standard Dining Plan participants don't tip as well.

If WDW continues to give out FD then obviously they have more people wanting to eat at signature restaurants. They need to ration the availability so that people who pay for the DxDP and higher have access to the restaurants. There aint no such thing as a free lunch! If you want to eat at signature restaurants then just pay cash.:wizard:

It says that for EVERY restaurant. Not just Le Cellier, but 'Ohana, Tony's, Be Our Guest, etc. It HAS to be incorrect. All those restaurants are on the 2013 regular dining brochure. We've apparently got a LOT of posters who are actually seeing this and thinking they'd take the restaurants off the regular dining plan.

Don't use the website for dining plan info. Use the brochure.

I just noticed that too. Oh well...the dining plan still isn't a good deal for us.

Im seeing chart in the make a reservation website area that states signatures(dinners) are not available on ddp only on dxdp and up. It actually shows last yrs(2012) compared to this yrs(2013).

This change might be BIG to alot of us.

go to make a reservation at the resturant and then click the link to"participating dining plans" on right side it shows up at AP,Jiko, and others. Im thinking a change is in the air.

Shows lecellier as 2 ts on ddp for LUNCH but not available for dinner on ddp at all

That is a known error on the web site regarding some locations taking only the deluxe plan. It's been like that for a while for some locations. I don't think anything is changing relative to that.

i have a hard time believing its a known error and disney didnt fix it? and why would it show 2 different charts? im sure someone has pointed it out to web developers and nothing has been fixed????if nothing changed they would have shown 1 chart for both yrs.....

I have 2 distant relatives that work there and heard mention of some changes coming but they wouldnt say beyond that. Website used to say Disney dining plan...yes now it says..... .Dine Plan: View Participating Dining Plans

look at lecellier under the make a reservation area..."Dine Plan: View Participating Dining Plans".. thats a big misprint if it is wrong....cant believe website designers would not fix this....and the charts are different for different signatures. this is relative to signatures only it seems...

maybe a way for disney to deal with FD filling up the big money making resturant tables.

Perhaps the cynic in me (or merely the experience of past publication work) but why would some easily updatable like the website (that has actually recently been updated) take precedent over a brochure that was printed over 2 months ago?

kinda agree ......i do some website work myself and normally if a mistake is found it is corrected quickly... upset customers and legal issues force us to do it. misleading your paying customers is NOT good business. I would imagine phone CM's are not as informed as the website designers.

sure hoping someone at disney has some insight. This is gonna be a big shocker to alot of people on dining plans next yr if this is the "skinny" on next yrs plan changes. Maybe a CM is monitoring this site and can chime in on the subject.

think

Deluxe resorts/ deluxe resturants.std TS.qs / deluxe dining plan or OOP $$$. makes sense and it fits the category
(dxdp offers 3 ts w/ appetizers and 2 snack credits daily used in any combo you want)

moderate resorts/std TS or QS/ std dining plan(free during FD)

value resorts/QS dining/qs dining plan(free during FD)

maybe a change in anticipation of new DVC resorts opening and freeing up some dining locations. Maybe this is part of the deluxe dining pricing increases along with CC against a signature ADR.

Suprised more on the boards havent chimed in on this subject. i would think this is really BIG !!!!! Maybe everyone thinks its just a glitch and not making a fuss and disney sees it as NOT as big of an adjustment for people as they may have thought.
