? For photopass+ experts...

I think I paid $99 for the pre visit special photo book and CD offer although tbh I can't find the confirmation at the moment :confused3:confused3 There are 6 rides that we would go on (all bar ToT) so at $15 per ride that would be $90 assuming we only bought 1 photo per ride. If I upgraded to photopass+ does anyone know what the cd plus photobook cost is ?

You should have a 'value' for your credit if you go into your photopass account and click on your Cart and you can work it out from there. I think it was $149 before the increase for the CD and book so you would still get the special price for the book at $49 and you would upgrade on the difference between the CD and the PP+ CD. That would be $99 plus tax on the difference or if you pre order the upgrade you would pay $69 plus tax (only the $99/$69 respectively would be taxable as your original pre purchase included tax) Sorry a bit slow on here. Had terrible problems getting onto the DIS the last few days aside from at work :rotfl: so using a different browser and trying to find my way around here!

My cart shows 1 x CD credit and 1 x book credit at $79.95. So does that mean I would pay the difference between $79.95 and $169.95 so $90. In that case it's exactly the same as buying the photos individually. I guess if that is the case the only benefit would be if we went on the rides multiple times, which I supposed we may well do :rolleyes1:rolleyes1 then the additional photos we would be getting would be FOC :confused3

That is why we are doing it - not so much because we would buy all the other photos (we can't afford that as we do LOTS of rides) but because every day we walk away from photos saying "I wish we could have got that one too ...." So effectively for $69 our wish can come true. :wizard:

This is the first I've hear of the "plus" card.

I've just prepaid for it for our October trip!

It took a while to find the address for booking, so if anyone else is thinking of doing it then here it is - www.disneyphotopass.com/wdwphotopassplus.aspx

Adam, did you pre order the regular photopass CD? Or did you just go and order the PP+ one? I just ask because the PP guys led me to believe that those of us who pre purchased have to email them first to get the pre ordered credit "hooked up" to upgrade from regular to Plus.

Thanks
Lee

I have just upgraded today to photopass plus. I pre-ordered and paid $149 for photopass CD and book. I phoned and explained I would like to upgrade and gave them my confirmation number. I then had to wait 48 hours to order the photopass plus until they had credited my account $99. I had to pay an additonal $70 and I have the credit for the photobook in my account.:)

I just did it direct through the link for $169.95. :confused3
It doesn't mention contacting them and they've confirmed they're sending by intrnational mail. :thumbsup2
I guess I'll find out in the next few weeks......

I hope I didn't make you panic with my question. You won't need to contact them if you just did the order from the link. I already pre purchased the regular CD so I have a part credit towards the PP+ in my account which can't be transferred online by me - I have to contact them apparently. It's only those who pre ordered before PP+ came out who need to upgrade so what you did would be correct as you obviously hadn't pre ordered a different CD beforehand :goodvibes

ive orderd mine and it should be here around thursday and mine has to go to holland

:thumbsup2 I understand now. :thumbsup2
Thanks for clearing that up although I wasn't panicking at all.:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

The pre order option is very new which is why there are no reports of it yet.

Up until the last 10 days, you could only upgrade once there. Effectively that is still the case at the moment unless they introduce an online offer.

You still have to take your voucher to one of the Photopass locations on the list to get your Photopass+ card so this has not changed.

My understanding was that if you have already pre ordered the regular PP CD, you need to email them with your order number, email address and details and request the upgrade. From there, I don't know what happens as I have not gone that far yet - I can only tell you what they stated on their Facebook page.

You pay the difference between whatever you paid for your original order and $169.00, plus tax on that amount (you are taxed on the difference only not on the amount you have already paid). The reason you are seeing different upgrade costs is that some people pre ordered when it was still $99 and others did so after the increase. Some have also done a photobook package on their original pre order and you still pay the full pre order amount on the photo book and upgrade on the price the CD was at the time you ordered.

Hi 2 Tiggies, I've already pre-paid for the photopass CD & photobook, so I need to e-mail do I? Do you have the e-mail address please? Is it possible to phone & do this do you know? I'm sure with 12 of us travelling we'll get value from it:woohoo: Looks like you're the expert on this now:goodvibes

Not an expert but I got stuck into the Photopass Facebook page one night when their team was online and replying to questions on the spot and I had many questions! :lmao:

You can phone them. I was going to but decided to rather email since (a) I have time and (b) I want to have something to print as well as an online print out of my transaction when I do it, rather than over the phone just in case. I just used the contact us link at the bottom of the photopass page which is the one I always use. :goodvibes

Just called and upgraded to the photopass + :yay:

All I had to do was give the lady my email address and then she initiated the upgrade. She said it would take upto 48 hours to show up in my shopping cart on the photopass website and then I could pay for it. She said that all I had to pay for was the difference between £99 and $169.95 and that there was no tax applicable as it was being done online. :):)

Thanks for that :thumbsup2
I didn't think of the online purchase avoiding tax. Added bonus!

Great, Thanks for the info all, especially 2Tiggies who always makes me laugh! I'll sort tonight, really looking forward to adding ride photos as we don't usually buy many because of the cost. :woohoo: Enjoyed adding Test Track ones to previous photo CDs, doing poses for tyhe camera etc, but won't be able to do that this year though:sad1:

now I have another question

My pre-purchased photopass CD entitles me to 30 days of photopass pictures.

Basically it means that I can stay in Disneyworld for 30 days and have all of my pictures on the same CD

We've already covered that the photopass+ is valid for 14 days and cannot be extended.

Now is it the "plus" part only that expires after 14 days, or the whole thing ?

If I upgrade my pre-purchased photo CD to a PP+ I will basically loose 14 days worth of pictures.
Am I correct ?

In that case, for someone like me staying 21 days, the upgrade is of absolutely no value, because we loose 7 days worth of pictures to be allowed to include ride & restaurant photos
Even if I managed to gather all ADRs and rides within that short 14 days windows, I would still need to purchase another photopass CD to cover the remaining days. It would be absolutely useless.

Unless you can retain the 30 days perk of the photo CD, but I doubt that

I may have this wrong but my understanding is as follows.

You have 30 days from when you 'activate' your photocards (start gathering photos), You can get as many photocards as you like we had 4-5 last time (&1 our friends used on a seperaate holiday) but becuase they were all used within 30day we were OK (our holidays over-lapped slightly)

I think you then have 30 days once your photocards are activated on the web-site/added to your account. Last time we used pre-purchased CD we were on holiday for 14 days; within 2 or 3 days of being back I added all my photocards to my photocard account; then had 30 days from then to choose, edit photos & order CD etc. My friends photo card was added on about day 15 of the 30 I think.

The 14 day rule for the Photocard plus enables you to add ride & dinner photos for 14 days from when you 1st use it - i.e. whilst you are on holiday, so as you say you could just make sure you get any ride photos you want within that 14 day window if you can work it that way. We're on holiday for 16 days this year, but our Disney days are within a 14 day period anyway so we're OK.

Hope that makes sense, have a feeling I'm getting confused now!:confused3

This is just my understanding though, so I'd advise you double check with Disney. I'll see if I can confirm when I try & sort out my upgrade.

The 'plus' options you can only collect for 14 days - it makes no difference to the normal photopass photos.

We upgraded to plus once we got here as we bought a photo package at Ohana and we do like the ride photos and this way we would be able to print the best. However TS Debby has no rolled in and is limiting our park time - we have 2 ride photos that I would have paid for (and a couple that I wouldn't) and we still have to Friday. I don't regret the plus as there was no way of knowing Debby was going to hang around for days!

Just bought my upgrade to the "plus" option :banana:

Just as the nice Disney lady told me yesterday the $99.95 credit was in my account and I just applied it to my purchase of the photopass +. As predicted it was $70 with no tax as it was an online purchase :goodvibes

Now I suppose we wait for the voucher :confused3
