PrincessCyann said:Regarding the airline tickets, what is covered? I am confused on this, because when we purchased it for our last trip, the CM said it covered cancellation for any reason (she mentioned illness, a hurricane or other really bad weather, loss of income, and other things, so it seemed well worth having!), and would also cover the airline tickets, though they state they are nonrefundable (she said that nonrefundable meant we would not get our $$ back but would get credit to use another time). When we got it for our upcoming trip in Sept., I wanted to double check what it covered, and the AAA TA said she wasn't sure.
So, I emailed Disney to ask for a copy of what was covered (the TA hasn't given us any paperwork yet, and silly me, I can't seem to find the pamphlet we got in the spring when we wentmy filing system
) and was told in their reply {quote}
This trip insurance pays covered financial losses related to this package that are incurred if you must cancel your trip or interrupt your travel because of a covered illness, injury, or death of you, a family member, or traveling companion
So who was right?? The initial CM back in spring (which I hope!), or the person who replied to my Disney email? If it is the latter, it seems really restrictive and I wouldn't have gotten it if it was limited to "covered" illnesses (whatever they may be) or death. My luck an illness wouldn't be one of the covered ones, and I am hoping we won't ever have to use it in case of death of one of us.
Can anyone clue me in, please?

I would say ANY reason would be a stretch for most policies. Did you purchase Traveil Guard Assist (this is what Disney and AAA sells)? First AAA TA told me to include air in the insurance I had to book air at the time of the package purchase/insurance or if I waited I had to pay an extra $29 per adult. They don't charge for kids.
Looking at my policy: "The Insurer will pay this benefit up to the Maximum Limit shown on the schedule of benefits if an Insured is prevented from taking the Trip due to any of the following unforeseen reasons: (a) Sickness, Injury or death of an Insured, Immediate Family Member, Traveling Companion or Business Partner . Injury or sickness must be so disabling as to reasonably cause a trip to be canceled or interrupted (b) inclement weather or the occurrence of a Natural Disaster that causes complete cessation of travel services at the point of departure and/or Destination (c) the Insured's principal residence is made uninhabitable due to fire or flood or natural disaster (d) the Insured being subpeonaed, required to serve on jury duty...(e) involved in a traffic accident en route to departure
then it goes on to tell some things it doesn't cover...Sorry I can't type it all

I did ask prior to purchase if military deployment was covered (DH is in National Guard), AAA TA called and was told "NO". I thought that was very unpatriotic of them

TA did tell me that last year she had no trouble working out rescheduling for clients with Disney due to hurricanes whether they had insurance or not. As far as airfare goes...from reading the above, it seems if you bought the airfare portion and had to legitimately cancel you should be refunded, but that is just my interpretation.
I have a few pages of fine print info. and can try to look other things up for you.
