Of why I like staying on property.

We stayed with some friends at the Westgate Villas on 192. Decent place, a two bedroom unit. Granted the decor was a little dated, but it was neat and clean. It was their dime so I was not complaining at all. Anyway, even though it was very close to the main entrance, it still was not as convenient, as staying at the BW or BCV or even VWL. Driving in everyday, parking the car, then driving back made me appreciate that its still about location, location, location.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I stayed off-site several years ago in a nice hotel but the commuting back and forth just made the trip feel different.

Hey I stay offsite a lot lately....

I trade my other timeshare to the Orlando area.

some of the timeshare like HGVC are really nice. So are the Marriotts.

but still I love my DVC.

I own at Westgate and I am going back this year. (then I am getting rid of it)

How was you stay? were the salemen still rude? was the room you had clean?

how was the free breakfast?

what didn't you like - besides transportation?

Westgate is really one of the worst on transportation - at least some of the others timeshares have a bus or shuttle to take you to the park for a price.

Westgate had nothing the last time - it has been a while I traded mind until this year.

but I am giving it - it finally chance - I brought an every other year one - I just hate to bother by sales people on MY vacation.

It's kind of hard to explain. The place we stayed was nice, just not the same. We tend to stay a lot at BCV and the ability to be in the heart of WDW just makes it more special for us. I hate even having to go off-site to get groceries. We must be brainwashed or something.

we stayed one night at the nick hotel - - GREAT STAFF, nice people.. small room, amazing decor...

I didn't feel like i was anywhere near WDW... and I had to walk a mile to my room... and it just wasn't OKW.

We drove to Epcot to meet family - short drive etc.. but parking and riding the tram.. all things i rarely do...

My kids (who picked the place!) couldn't wait to get to OKW the next day. I hadn't realized just how much we associate that place with our WDW vacation. As soon as I pass the guard and drive over the bridge I feel like I'm breathing pure oxygen or something silly like that! :wizard:

You know Sue, I know what you mean about the oxygen thing. I open the windows as soon as we go through the main gate, and the air smells different. My DH thinks I am nuts.

There is nothing like being on property, for me. Have stayed off property in Orlando and while there are some lovely hotels, there's just "something" about Disney. That's why I love the DVC. It gives me the ability to stay on property when I want. :goodvibes
