OK, so yes, I know God is real and He does answer prayers. But this became more real to me tonight.
My parents left on Thursday for WDW. Sometime after they left, I was sitting down for breakfast and I was overcome by this incredibly strong desire to pray for them on the road. So I did.
And it wasn't enough. I just had this sense of urgency to really pray for them. So I did.
This happened 2 more times. In fact I was in tears and just told God I don't know what's going on but please send his angels to protect my parents. I was going to call them but then got caught up with nursing Elizabeth and then the feeling passed.
Well, tonight my mom called. She said she didn't want to worry us but they had a very close call when they got on I-95 after leaving our place. A tractor-trailer was carrying three concrete dividers and they came loose...right in front of my parents. My dad was able to get around it by "an inch" my mom said. She was screaming b/c she thought they were goners. The beams ended up hitting the two cars behind them but my parents were unhurt. (I forgot to ask about the other drivers).
When she told me this, I just started crying again... I realized how good God is and how we are to obey Him when he tells us to do something.
I never had a feeling like that before or had a prayer request answered in such an overt way.
Wow!!!
Wow. Thank God. And how scary is that?
