I probably shouldn't have, but I've just told DH - oh dear! Have not seen him smile so much since last time he was at a Hooters restaurant! He says that's the holiday this year sorted out now (I hope he's joking!).

The first time we went to USA I wouldn't go in one because I didn't know what to expect, but there used to be one in Birmingham UK that my friend and her family had been to so she explained it wasn't what I was expecting so I relented the second time we went. It's OK although my DH would say it's brilliant, got OK burgers etc and the American football, baseball and ice hockey on tv, and the girls are really friendly to talk to, so I don't mind them now!

Hang on a cotton picking minute! I think some of Kev's vices seem to be rubbing off on me here and soiling my good clean reputation!

Just for the record, I have never been to a Hooter's bar or ever plan to (so I've been told by DW!).

I went to the one in Birmingham too, just for a laugh. Actually I was on my honeymoon (really!)

The food was average but it was something you have to do once to know you've done it LOL. What used to make me laugh in B'ham were the adverts on the back of the double decker buses with a lovely Hooters girl on - as they were the height of the bus the ads were a bit - erm - overwhelmingly big!! So to speak

But not everyone along International Drive is benefiting from the more than 100,000 at the show.

A lot of the cash the builders drop will be in a tight radius along the southern part of I-Drive and at restaurants on Sand Lake Road.

There are exceptions, of course. Some high-end restaurants as far away as Altamonte Springs will see extra business this week. And certain builders are breaking out to venture to Rachel's South, which has brought in extra dancers. (As a point of comparison, Holy Land theme park, which is three miles closer to the convention center than the strip club, isn't expecting a similar surge in business.)
