I have been making an itinerary/tip book using large (4x6 index cards)
I read here how someone laminated the cards and had them spiral bound,
which I was going to do too, but then I was at Target yesterday and I found these great plastic "brag" books in the photo album aisle. They hold 4x6 photos so the large index cards fit perfectly! They are all plastic so you don't have to worry (much) about rain and small enough to fit in most bags or fanny packs. They are $1.99 and hold 40 photos. I bought two figuring if needed, I can attach the two together somehow (glue? staples?) - I really like that I can pull the cards out and change things if needed and also that I
can slip other things behind the index cards like tickets or FP's, small maps, ect...I'm pretty excited, they are working out perfectly so far, I even made my own cover to slide in the front and I figure after the trip, my niece can have the book and put pictures in from the trip!

I'm finding out more things as each day passes.
