My ds (5) is a personal space invader. I try my best to keep him in line, but I think he thinks that the 6 inches further that he stands will get him to the ride faster. Sorry about this! I always say something to him about it. This is my normal spiel:

Ds are you with that family (the one he is invading their space), he normally responds no, than I say then come back with us please.

He will come back with us, but he tends to normally creep back up and almost every other line we get into - the same thing!

Sorry again - we are in training right now!

Just for the records, I can't stand personal space invaders. (Makes me think of the Seinfeld episode with Judd Hirsh - I think it was him.)

ahhh your son is only 5 he's just excited it's the teenagers and adults that are the problem

My Dh and I always take my son to the Santa Claus Parade in Toronto, and we
usually go with other friends. We pack a lunch and snacks and make a
morning/afternoon of it.
We always get late comers who try to butt in front of us and I find it so
annoying that I have to say something.
Well, at the end of the school year in June, when my DS (5) brought home his
school work I was going through his "What he did on the weekend Book".
There on the weekend of the Santa Claus Parade, he had written " some people
tried to get in front of us, but my Mommy yelled at them and they went away."
