? for family's of 5 who have stayed at WL

We are a family of 5(2A, 3C-6,3,1) we are considering staying at the WL next Feb and am wondering about room size. Are the standard rooms the same size as the standard at AKL? If one of the 5 in our party is under 2 will they let us stay in a standard room? They let us at AKL. And Finally if you are a family of 5 what type of room have you stayed in at WL? I really like the layout of the Deluxe room but am dissappointed that you can only get it with conceirage service. Sorry for so many questions. Any info would be appreciated.

I have a famly of 5. (not good to be an odd number is it?)

We stayed at WL in a junior suite. I don't remember any kind of special concierge service. The extra space was well worth it. Especially when my middle child had too much Disney food and didn't feel well.

As far as the child under 2 ............ we could not stay in a room designated for 4. So now we are sized out of WL. Love that place.

As long as the fifth member of your party is under the age of three when you check in, you should be okay in a room designated for four. The pack and play is available for the smaller child for sleeping.

Disney's rooms usually state something like 4+1 under the age of 3 in a crib/packnplay. SO you do fit in any room in Disney that lists a max occupancy of 4 or more. Yes you can stay in a standard room at WL.

AKL st room is 344 sq ft. WL std room is about 340 sq. ft. So they are about the same size.

there are 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 children, ages 8 and twins 2 yrs old, and we are staying at WL standard. if you can book 5 on line, the cms would be able too. Its our first time at WDW and WL so I am excited!

When my youngest was about 15 months old, all 5 of us stayed in a standard room at the WL. It was quite tight in there with the crib and all of our gear.

Once your youngest is 3, you have to move up either to the junior suite or to a room at one of the other deluxes. We found that a room at the Poly was $700 cheaper for our 8 night stay last year than WL's junior suite would have been, which is why we switched over to the Poly (and that's where we'll be tomorrow night, too!).

We stayed at the WL with our 3 boys when they were 1/4/7. We had a couryard view room with a queen and a set of bunk beds. We had plenty of room. Our 1 year old slept with us and the 2 older boys slept in the bunk beds. We had a balcony overlooking the pool and could see the Electrical Water Pagaent at night. We were in room 5062, the two older boys went to the Cub's Den, the kids club in the hotel one night and had alot of fun. Enjoy the resort now because when your little one is over 2 no more standard rooms!

Thank you for all the great information. The WL sounds like it is do able for us next Feb being that our youngest will be 1 1/2. We are going to decide between WL and Poly, we will let the kids help us choose this one now that they are older. Thanks again.

P.S. Anyone been at the end of February? Will we be able to swim?

we went feb 25-mar 4 in 2006. we did swim some but the pools weren't that well heated and it was chilly in the evening/morning. Mid day wasn't bad.

Just be aware that the standard rooms are very small. DH and I stayed in one once, no kids, and we we tripping over each other constantly (and we are not large people). Other than that, it's a lovely resort, but DH says never again for us.

I would vote WL for this trip since you can stay in a standard room. Once your youngest is three, the WL becomes a lot more expensive in terms of having to get two rooms or a jr. suite. At that point I would stay at the Poly. Do WL now while you can. We are family of 5 also and we are debating where to stay in January. Poly? WL two standard rooms or a jr suite? CSR two water view rooms?

We really like to stay at different resorts, but when you are a family of five it really limits you. Unfortunately we no longer have any in the under three crowd. Eight year old twins and a seven year old.
