Do you have a DVD Player? Xbox? Cable or Satelite TV? VCR? Etc Etc Etc? Do you hate switching between them all? This is the gadget for you!! It AUTOMATICALLY switches between inputs. All you do is turn the power on to whatever you want to use and it "takes over" the signal path. You can prioritize the input so I keep the cable TV on the lowest priority input, it's always on.
When we want to watch a DVD we just turn the DVD player on and the video and audio are switched automatically!
Another great use for this box and the main reason I got it is that our TV is located about 20 feet from where all of the Home Theater equipment is located, by running one set of component video cables to the TV everything is fed.
It has also cut down on the calls from DD and DW on how to switch to whatever.
Another nice feature is that it will convert digital or coaxial audio if you don't have the right inputs on your reciever.
I told Pete about it and he has one too, he loves it.

Wonder how long I can keep my hubby from finding out about this.

Looked it up, only $194? My remote can turn everything on and off just fine. :)

Does this really work? I get so freakin confused working with 3 different remotes, I would love it!!

That's how i feel too...$20-$30...maybe...I'm too cheap...:teeth:

It really really works.
The reason it is so expensive is that if you notice it is all component video, 3 seperate cables for the video alone.
It has to be really high quality electronics to not degrade the signal.
If you know the price of good video cables you can actually save money if your TV is located any distance from your equipment.
I should mention that your equipment does have to have component video out for this to work.

Hi Alex :wave2:

I just sent the link to this thread to my DH so he can check this out. He loves stuff like this! :teeth: $200 isn't cheap but I don't think it's too much for what it does. Even though we do OK with always switching things over when we want to use our various components, it'd be nice to have this!!

I like that piece, but I have no more room in my current setup to fit that anywhere.

As for the other comments on too many remotes or having to remember what remote does what...they make plenty of universal/learning remotes with macro capability.

My remote is programmed to cycle through all of teh required options to turn on/turn-off my system in sequence as it is needed. i.e. for DVD it will turn on TV, cycle the changes to turn off the tv speakers, turn on the DD-decoder, turn on the DVD player, then turn on the AMP, set the input and dim the lights. I can do the same to listen to music or more simple macro commands like swithching the cable tv input signal from 480i to 1080i for HD channels.
