It has been over a year since I started my CP down in Orlando, and let me tell you this Disney hangover is terrible. As some of you may or may not know I was actually terminated from the program, however both CP's that finished their program and those who did not will know what a Disney hangover feels like.

The college program was probably one of the best choices I have ever made in my life. I have made so many friends and have some many memories from my experience, even with being prematurely kicked out of the program I don't regret a thing. Going down for my program was one of the most exciting trips of my life, and going home was definitely the saddest trip.

You know when you leave a Disney vacation and head back home? You know how sad you are to be leaving and then you just have to wait until the next time you go back? Leaving the college program is kind of like that but with the added sadness of never knowing when or if you will see your new friends again. I wrote this post because although it may not seem like it upon your departure, there is life after Disney.

Here's where I bother you all with advice.

While you are in the program:
1. Make as many friends as possible
2. Be open minded
3. Go to the parks as much as possible
4. Experience things in the parks that you never got to on your vacations
5. Be friendly and kind to your coworkers in your location
6. Don't let the bad days get you down (yes even in Disney you will have bad days)
7. Go to the Polynesian, get yourself a dole whip and watch Wishes from the beach. Seriously. Do this one.
8. Watch all the fireworks shows in the parks
9. Meet as many characters as possible
10. Go to housing events.
11. This may be the most important one. TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES.
This is an experience most of us will only get to do once so live it up! Don't take anything for granted, be smart but also have fun and please document this fun as much as possible. When you are out of the program you will thank yourself for it.

When you are out of the program:
1. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS
I mean that's really it. These people you meet in the program will be some of your greatest friends and although you may live across the country or even across the world it is so important to keep in touch. Promise to meet somewhere in the summer, go on a spontaneous road trip and meet them halfway, but in the very least keep in touch. It might be hard at times to do but it is worth it.

I just want everyone to get the most out of their experience while you are there because I am missing Disney and all the people I met so much right now! Live it up! Don't be afraid to try new things.

How did you get termed if you don't mind me asking? I'm worried about all the termed stories

Very very long story, so I'll give you the shortened version. I worked with two girls that lived together in Vista Way with me. I became good friends with the one, let's call her Ashley, and the other girl, who we will call Emily, did not like us for unknown reasons. I tried to be nice to Emily everyday at work asking how her boyfriend was and other things but she just really hated me.

On valentine's day me and my other over 21 roommates bought some wine and had a dinner in, i went to go throw a wine bottle out and stopped by Ashley's to say hi (the bottle was empty at this point). I then accidentally left the bottle at their place and forgot about it. Ashley said she threw it out so no big deal. However, Emily went to the dumpster brought it back to the apartment and put it under Ashley's bed. Emily then called security and told them that her roommates (all of which were under 21) had been drinking. Security did a check of their apartment and found the wine bottle. Ashley, although confused as to how it got there, told security that it was mine, because it was.

So here i'll sum it up for you. We all got called down, five of us said exactly what had happened that I just explained to you and Emily said that I supplied to minors. So housing said to me and I'll quote here, "We don't care about what actually happened, it's what it looks like." So I got kicked out and so did my friend Ashley. Emily got to stay, however she got kicked out two weeks later for drugs. The rest of Ashley's roommates almost got kicked out over this incident as well but me and Ashley took the blame for the whole thing (even though we did nothing wrong) so they could all stay.

Now let me tell you, I was a rare case. Most CP's get kicked out for poor work performance, or underage drinking. However, cases like mine do happen.

Here's the key, talk to your roommates and set rules. If you are having a problem with a roommate go talk to housing about it and see if they can move you or the roommate causing the problems. Communication is the key. Also when you go to the housing meeting during your first week pay attention to what they are saying to you. They will go over the rules of housing and ways you can be terminated just pay attention. Follow the rules and talk to your roommates.

Like I said I was a rare case, and unfortunately I got kicked out because some girl didn't like me, but don't worry or think that this will happen to you. Enjoy your time down in Florida! It is an amazing experience that you will never forget!

That really, really sucks! Thanks for your advice. I'm looking forward to all sorts of things.
