I'm in Windsor, CT and was wondering how long the drive would be. Where does everyone stop to spend the night? Any help would be appreciated.

We are from central Jersey it takes us about 16 to17 hours to get to Disney. We have driven 4 times and we love the drive. We always stop over in Brunswick Georgia its about a 12 hour drive. The next day is an easy 4 or 5 hours. Great hotel and restaurant right off of the exit. Good luck!!

I drove from Boston. We stopped in DC (10 hour drive) one night and in Georgia the next night. We drove from 9:00 AM to 12:00 midnight to Georgia. I'm not a fan of driving it if I can help it.
But my hubby enjoys the ride.

28 hours from Cape Cod - Never again!!!!

We drove to Disney our first family visit a number of years ago and it took about 20 hours straight thru from R.I. All I can say now is thank god for airplanes.

We have driven 5 times. We leave WH around 11:30 at night and drive through to Walterboro, SC (get there around 2pm). Check into Holiday Inn, swim, dinner, early bedtime. Upat 5 am, breakfast, in LBV by noon.

It works for us...

I have driven quite a few times from Bridgeport CT.
It has taken me as little as 15 hours and as much as 20 hours depending on the traffic. I don't speed excessivly, I set my cruise control 5 miles over the posted speed limit and I have never gotten stopped.
I leave CT around 6 or 7 pm so I miss the NY and Washington traffic. After that there is not as much traffic. The one thing different about driving down south compared to up north is that there is a greater distance between exits down south so less people use the highway. We up north tend to use I-95 as a regular road to get from one place to another quicker. Of course we also have more accidents and traffic because of this reason.
I drive non-stop, except for gas and bathroom breaks. I try to pack sandwiches and soda but sometime I don't get to it and need to stop and get something to eat.
Of course I should tell you that I am a nurse and used to work nights. I am used to going through the night without sleep and having children sometimes I had to do without the sleep days too.
If I leave at 7 pm I can be at the parks at around noon and start my day at Epcot. Who needs sleep, you can do that at home. Peggie

I drive all the time now. I am from CT. The one thing you have to do is make sure you get to the G. W. Bridge before 6 am. We usually leave before 4 am. After that you next problem will be D.C. We avoid that by going around the area entirely. We usually stop in North Carolina for the evening. It takes about 21 hours of driving. I drive the speed limit. I am counting stops for food, etc. The most difficult part of the trip for me is North Carolina and South Carolina, it is very boring.
