Has anyone seen this show? It comes on after Trading Spaces on Saturday nights. They give a group of people $5,000 and one week to plan a friend’s/relative’s wedding, and the bride and groom aren’t involved at all in the planning and can’t even see their friends the week before the wedding. The bride is blindfolded and taken to the wedding location, and she even has to put on her dress while blindfolded. I get really sad when people are upset during the reveal at Trading Spaces, but this is MUCH more painful. Last weekend the bride hated the dress and it was so sad to see the disappointment in her eyes when she took off the blindfold. I hated that dress too, and couldn’t believe her friends picked it – it wasn’t at all what she wanted, and they KNEW the kind of dress she wanted. I’d be so mad at my friends! But, just like Trading Spaces, if you want to be on the show you’d better be prepared for ANYTHING!

I like this new show. I think that I would be most paranoid about my dress. What if it didn't fit right? I know when I got married my seamstress did the alterations and then when I went to try it on it was to small in the waist. She had to let out half an inch on each side. Took her over an hour so that could never be done on the wedding day. Everything else I think I would be fine with as long as they didn't go too over the top.

Could be a lot of fun! :)
(Glad I'm not doing it though! LOL!)

I watched it last weekend and really liked it - that woman's dress was hideous though, and her mom was pretty nuts!

I actually like the magenta dress that they keep showing in the promo for Saturday's episode. :o

there is no way my sister would allow anyone to plan her wedding!! she would have an absolute coronary!!!

she's getting married june 21...she's not quite bridezilla, but she's close...

and that budget would never work for her wedding...they gave themselves a $10k budget!!! my first wedding and honeymoon combined with my second wedding and honeymoon doesn't even come close to that amount!!!

now, i might be able to do the show myself...assuming there was much consultation between my friends and family first! ;)

I loved the location of the wedding last week, but that dress was beyond hideous! It was worse than a nightgown! Not to mention that the quality was sadly lacking. I could have done better and I don't even sew! I thought the bride was such a good sport to not complain, she definitely went into the show with the right attitude. I think this show is an interesting concept, and I hope it continues.

I enjoyed watching the show too and also thought the bride's mother was nuts! The location was beautiful, but $1000??? That was a fifth of their budget! I was annoyed with the wedding planner too...I thought he was pretty much a jerk. And those windchime favors???? UGLY!

Can't wait to watch it this week!!!

I agree that the location was really nice, but I bet the bride would have preferred that they had gotten a cheaper location and spent that money on the dress and maybe the cake they wanted. They really wanted a cake from that bakery, and their friends knew it. I do think the groom’s sister did a good job making the cake (I don’t know how it tasted though!) Also, I think it would have been so easy to find the dress she wanted at a decent price. It didn’t have to be a wedding dress, just a nice strapless silky dress. But instead they put her in a something that might as well have been a paper bag. Man, that mother WAS nuts. How did her daughter turn out so nice? If I were the groom’s sister I would have kicked that woman’s behind! I also really didn’t like the wedding planner. He reminded me of Doug from Trading Spaces in that he had already decided what he wanted to do and didn’t seem to care at all about what the bride & groom would have wanted.
