Hi all,

Thought this might be useful - after trawling the internet, this is the cheapest price I could find for a round trip for 6 adults to Sequoia Lodge from Beauvais airport - thought it might help as it is a very discreet link on Google!

www.rstransports.com

It came to 260 euros from the airport to the hotel and back again, not sure how other prices compare but this is by far the cheapest I found, and they are very helpful, and their cars look new and have DVD players in them - I'll let you know how we get on when we physically use them next week!

Hope this helps at least a couple of you :)

Thanks for the link :thumbsup2 I think they're the same firm as BStransports. If so, we used them last October and they were fine.

yeah, just checked out the bstransports website and it looks like they are the same! good to know, thanks :)

We used them in November - they are great if there are less than 4 of you too - 55 euros each way for 3 of you. We had a lovely private transfer, just the 3 of us and the driver.

Now I may have this wrong, but I just found out that the train would cost something like £37 each way (2 people), for a flexible ticket.

If we went for the shared shuttle service then with RS Transports it is €45 each way - that's roughly £33! Taking into considering there would also be no hassle getting on and off trains, it's a bit of a no brainer really.

How are they with handling your luggage? And does a 'shared shuttle' basically mean you share with others they are collecting at the same time?

I've not used the shared shuttle, but as far as luggage is concerned - our driver was more than happy to wheel my DD and Dnieces cases from where he collected us at our exit to the car, and load all the cases in the boot too. He unloaded all of them from the boot at the hotel as well.

Sounds better than the VEA from that point of view too then, from what I saw the driver opened the side covers and left everyone to lift their own luggage on!

DD seems fidgety about getting into a car with strangers, says the VEA would be better (how lots of strangers is 'better' than a few is beyond me :confused3 ), but sitting on a coach for nearly an hour doesn't appeal to me, and I don't think there is much in the cost, is there?

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has used the shared shuttle service, what their experience was like, etc.

are they easy to book? Wondering what the price is for 1 adult and 1 child, i would prefer to use this for the journey to disneyland happy with bus back

I found them very easy to book with - did it online, and got a confirmation email, which then requested I let them know how I was going to pay - in advance by card, or in cash to the driver on arrival at our hotel. I emailed them back with my choice, and got another confirmation email for that too.

I did it all very last minute too, as the public transport strikes were on at the time. I booked it Friday afternoon, and had it all confirmed by Saturday afternoon, for our transfer on the following Monday evening.

WE've used them a few times now and last time price was reduced to 55 € each way for 3 of us (three females on our own if that gives DD peace of mind;) ). Although this is the shared booking price we travelled to and fro on our own. I'd definitely recommend them Annette . It is so much less hassle than shuttles and trains etc.

we're using the shared shuttle next week, so will let you know if we have to share with anyone - though to be honest I doubt it, as there are 6 of us and there are only 7 seats? glad to hear of all the good feedback though!

I guess that if you book the shared service, then you run the risk of them putting someone in with you? I notice they offer different cars, do you think we would increase the chances of keeping it to yourself, if we opted for a smaller car?

Of course, in an ideal world, it would be good to tie up with a DIS member who was travelling at the same time, but what are the chances of that happening? :cloud9:

My DD and i are thinking of travelling to CDG next September and I must admit I am a bit put off with the reports of the VEA. We've never flown before (use Eurostar} but flying is so much easier. We don't know our way around CDG so my first question is, is it easy to find the shuttle stops from Terminal 1 ?

Thanks

It is relatively easy - we will help of course!

For getting a bus to DLP from CDG, you need to find Gate 20, level 3 - finding the gate is pretty easy, as they are marked in huge numbers in the airport, and getting the right level isn't much of a hassle either - the VEA buses are signposted throughout terminal one, so really, as long as you find exit 20, which you will, its not a lot of hassle.

The VEA bus is OK, just annoying to have another leg of a journey when you want to be there! But the buses are clean, the journey is fairly smooth and quick, and it is nice pin pointing sights along the way! You can hear the excitement in the bus!

Might still be worthwhile checking how much a taxi would cost for 2 of you, if this is more convienient?

We flew to CDG last October and I found www.easycdg.com a great help, maps of the airport, etc.

We used the VEA to go to DLP but got the train back. Bus took just over an hour, but was clean, quite a big queue, but the bus driver wouldn't let anyone on the bus until he established where the queue started and wouldn't let anyone skip, not sure if every driver does this. The train (just one stop from DLRP to CDG) was so fast that I didn't even get to sit down (after putting all the luggage up out of the way, next thing I knew I had to take it back down). I would travel by train again, but book it in advance.

We had intended to get the train to DLP but when we joined the queue to buy the tickets (the machines were out of order) a staff member asked us where we were going and told us the train was booked out until the following day. TBH I think they were just trying to shorten the queue. Take a look at www.sncf.co.uk to book the train from CDG to marne la vallee chessy (DLP).

Hope this helps
