I'd try it today! I just called to cancel the Galleria program & was offered an easy 100.00 rebate on household expenses (including food)... 25.00 each quarter.... All I said was that I wanted to cancel.. The rebate makes the membership affordable at least... I also got the same offer when I called to cancel the Houseworks Plus program... I joined the Houseworks Plus to get the Home Depot gift cards at a discount, but it turned out that one didn't have the gift cards, it was the Galleria program that offered them... I'm definitely keeping the Galleria, I don't know if I'll keep the Houseworks Plus or not, even with the 100.00 rebate...

Since it was so easy to get the 100.00 rebate, I'd recommend calling tonight to request to cancel (if in fact you actually want to cancel, you won't get the rebates...)

What do you mean a $100 rebate for household expenses? I am not familiar with the program. Can you please explain in a little more detail?

Thanks!

First you have to join :bounce: The best place to join Connections through is www.Mypoints.com, you pay 1.00 for the first month... the yearly fee through Connections is 79.00 (otherwise it's 140.00)... The same company that runs Connections also runs several other programs (few details at www.dealpass.com) When I called to cancel the Galleria & Homeworks program I was offered 100.00 for each program in household rebates (could be a rebate for cable, utilities, groceries - you just send in your receipt) if I kept the program (yes that means paying 140 up front)... also when I joined I think I got a 25.00 Kmart card... so basically it does turn out to be a good deal in the end....

Thanks for the info. So are you saying that if you join Connections through Mypoints.com that the membership is only $79.00 instead of $149.00 ?

I appreciate all the info. I am just a little apprehensive of joining a program.

I have been a member of Connections for 2-3 years and tried Essentials (they have Target, Linens N things gift cards) for one year.

When I called Essentials to cancel as I didn't use the stores enough to do it for another year, the guy with a cute little accent was offering me a bunch of stuff and I kept saying no, Finally he says, ma'am, I'm just trying to keep you!, and I said YES I know, but I'm just trying to cancel!

I think if you're a member, you can just call for the rebates. They used to have video rebates, but I had to ask for them. Thanks for the reminder to ask for these!

Hi Vivienne,

What other stores did Essentials offer the gift cards on? Do you remember if Home Depot was one of them?

Did you wind up cancelling essentials? What was the biggest incentive they offered you?

Hi,

Thanks to your post, I just called and ordered the $60 rebates. As I recall, it's $5 a month, hopefully I will actually do them this time. :p Again, got a guy with a cute accent who didn't understand my request, but he asked someone and finally ordered them.

As for Essentials, I think Home Depot was on originally, but not sure. Kohl's was supposed to be, but they must not have come to an agreement. If it's not online, you could call for the list.
They offered me the rebates and the $25 Kmart card, but I was really just ready to cancel.

I love connections...I've saved $225 for Xmas already!

Hi Vivienne,

You should have gone for the big $$$ and asked for the 100.00 in rebates!!!! 60.00 was offered electronically when I called, but I just waited to talk to a person & then said I wanted to cancel, it was at that point the 100.00 was offered.... I might call about Essentials to see if the 20% is offered on Home Depot cards through that one... I think it's SUPPOSED to be offered with the Homeworks Plus though, the logo is there, but when you actually join, you see the only thing offered for Home Depot is a fix it yourself CD!!! I don't fix anything myself LOL....

I may call back or wait til right before my renewal date in Jan. The guy I talked to this time was not the brightest bulb in the box, (I know that's mean, he was probably just new :) )
