this video show how the bus looked like inside while in motion they load wheel chair through the front door and you would be tied down in the front not sure you want any further back. plus they was not in the total back and they looked far from the driver their was still one more set of door behind them. Their no word yet on when and if they will be using them. sorry sue i know these are not really disabilities related but thought some people might enjoy them.

Interesting to see these and the space on them. They do look a lot longer than the present buses I wonder how that will work at the bus stops :confused3

if they get them they would use them on select routes like value resorts and other high volume routes. but they would have to redo some of the stops to be able to handle the three doors. it can handle over 120 people so it can replace two buses. It be interesting if they get them because it be alot to redo the bus stops and do some work on other areas like entrances to the resorts. If you look at the video of it turning in ak it went slower then the other bus because it turned wider and took a little longer to make the turn safe. plus they have to give special training to drivers to drive a longer bus.

These buses are in service in Boston on some of the T lines and definitely at Logan Airport. If you've ever been there you know that the roads are tight, narrow, curvy. And the buses maneuver just fine. :) I really don't see a big issue anywhere at Disney.

how often does the parks close at the same time??
I wonder the wheelchair spots would go - didn't really see any on that bus unless it was behind the camera
I did like the high seats that face in (I"m guessing they were above a wheel) but I"m thinking that would be great for the kids to sit & M&D can hold the stroller while standing in front of them

they are at the front of the bus these bus you would load through the front door unlike the other buses where disney can change the they way they face i am not sure if disney can with these. but you never know their might be some spots they could.

here it is in nyc the seats at the front would be the wheel chair seats

they use them in new york and most of the time they good at turns sometimes the cars have to move so it can complete the turn. i just think some resorts it will have a hard time getting out or in like the swan, dolphin, beach, yacht club it couldn't get into or out of. it just needs more space to make a turn then the other buses so it will take some time to get use to for the drivers and disney. just look at the cr stop it might have problems making that turn in to the stop the front of the bus could come to close to the stop and not be able to complete the turn. plus most stops are just big enough for one bus may be two on some but this needs room for three sets of doors to open. I know the board walk stop wouldn't fit the whole bus leaving the third set of doors useless.

These buses were made for public transportation for long routes that have lots stops. Here in new york just like boston they use them on long routes that have lots of stops because they can handle a lot of people. so they would most likely coast disney more money then they would like even though they could use less buses and in turn have more buses for other route and back up buses for high peak times.

Yay, I love bendy-buses!!!!

We have them in the UK and they don't seem to present any problems for the drivers.

I know i just know some driver that didn't like the new low floor buses being that their wider and it took them some time to get used to. i just meant that they have buses that they know they can make a turn and know the drivers will have to get use to making the turn differently.

the buses they have now are 40 inches the new bus is 62 inches the 40 has 40"10 turning radios and the 62 inch bus a 44'08 turning radios.

Interesting! Did you get dizzy sitting in the back? It seems like the back would swing a bit with the turns.

These look similar in style to the articulated busses we had in Ottawa ON going back to the 80s. I remember we used to try to stand in the middle section without holding on. It really was very smooth and in the back we definitely never thought it felt as though we were moving around more than anywhere else (much to our chagrin; we were kids after all).

You REALLY don't feel like it's any larger than a regular bus when you're on it.

Really? There's no way I'd be steady enough to stand in the middle without holding on. I'm very impressed :)

Articulated buses are pretty much the same as regular buses, and while I expect they do take some time to get used to for the drivers, they're just as safe. Most major cities I've been to have them for their public transit and the drivers don't seem to have any trouble maneuvering them. The back doesn't really swing all that much, it's all really controlled. I get motion sickness really easily and I don't get sick in the back.
