For all you pin traders. . .a question

I am looking to find some great cast lanyard pins on my upcoming trip. For those of you experienced with this, what are your strategies for securing them? Show up early and hit the stores before rides? I would love to hear how you do it! It seemed as if all the CMs had the same pins (that I wasn't interested in) on my DL trip last March but we didn't start our pin trading until later in the afternoons & evenings.

I don't really know much but what I do know, I learned by reading the Dis forum called Disney Collectors. There is tons of pin info. It is toward the bottom of the main page.
