I went on a date the other night, I met this guy from match.com. Now I assumed that guys 50 and older had class and didn't drool and grop a woman....WRONG, not the case here. What is the matter with boys and I use that word bacause this wasn't a man? Has anyone else dating experienced this or is it just me, am I that sexy......NOT am I that loose...NOT I'm just a regular 48 yr old woman that would like to be respected but seems the men are just thinking about....well you know.....when do their hormones calm down and do they ever grow up?

Oh Gailt, I totally sypathise, having been single for 7 years I'm on the point of giving up!!! I either get the 'lets sell both our houses and move in together' type (after seeing them for 1 month!!) or the 'I'm just in it for a fling' type (ok but they always let you down) or the younger 'I'm not looking for a commitment@ which translates as 'we've been seeing each other for 6 months but I don't want to arrange to see you at the weekend in case some other offer comes up' So haven't dated in over 2 years now - very sad I'm only 34 but will be stuck on the shelf now for ever, would LOVE to feel that first flush of love excitement again but don't think I ever will!

Carol, you are still young. don't give up and make sure that you get respect no matter what. To bad God made a mistake when he greated boys, he should of stuck with the girl formula.

I think you take a chance with some of the "anonymous" ways to meet folks. You don't really know the person...you know what they have written in their online "blurb", but that could be a lie. Now, I am not saying that everyone who puts an online dating profile is a liar, so those of you who are nice honest people with onlione dating profiles don't need to get all excited.

Also, was this man recently out of a relationship?? I have known men who, when they are immediately post-break-up, tend to go a little kooky with dating, perhaps as an ego boost???? You know, the "let me prove that I am a stud even though this woman just broke up with me".

Conversely, there are some women who will do this as well..."well, he doesn't want me, but let me prove that I am young & sexy.

I will tell you that I met my DH when I wasn't really looking for him, & met him through friends so I "knew" a little bit about him.
