Have you been told this by others...or are you self-proclaimed nerd?


DH knows he is a nerd, but in high school he defiantley held the title too. I remember my friends all telling me I could go out with jocks and people much "better" looking. But, obviously..I never took their advice.

So, were you all called this...or are you naming yourselves?

I think, I really can't remember. But I do know that Starbursts were really good back then.

I was never called a nerd, but I was definitely called a geek! I don't know if DH was ever called a nerd but he definitely was. He's the classic nerd: Math club, AV boy, etc. Went to the prom in a hideous blue suit!

I was middle of the road! I was friends with the popular crowd, but wasn't one them per se. Maybe that makes me nerdular!

I have a shirt that says " I love my Geek"

I don't think that anyone ever called him a nerd but when you were the class valedictorian I think it goes with the territory. GOt him an awesome job and a great life for us... "GO GEEKS"

Both, I guess. I've always been one of those types who knew a lot of obscure things, remembered a lot of wierd facts and normally got good grades without putting a whole lot of effort into it (which, BTW, always drove DW nuts ).

I'm not a computer geek by education -- my degrees are business related, but I never got too far away from my true calling, IT.

I was just glad in college it wasn't nerds and not...It made it easier to have friends that appreciated DH for who he was...

Well, no I'm kind of a closet nerd. I mean I keep it in the closet. I like to dress in style, and blend in with the fashionable crowd while secretly reveling in my nerdiness!

Nerds really are much more fun to be around.

Hmmm.....That's actually a tough call.....I work in the computer field (I'm a database admin right now, but I've done everything from network engineering to PC support), I love science fiction and fantasy (though I can't stand star trek ), and I'm a closet Broadway fan...

But I also played sports all through school (baseball into college), and hung out with the "in" crowd as much as with anybody else (had classes with the "geeks"...played sports with all the "jocks"...smoked, so I also hung out with the hoodlums ..........So I don't know that I would qualify as a "nerd" necessarily.

DW calls me a computer geek...but she's a CPA, so what does she know
