We arrived in Daytona Beach at 1am this morning after 19.5 hrs of driving from Michigan. All I can say is I'm glad that we made it. Coming out of construction in Nashville, a truck in the left lane decided it wanted my spot in the right lane. He never signalled or anything; just came on over. My choices were let him hit me; go off into a three foot deep drainage ditch and hit a concrete retaining wall; or slam on the brakes and swerve onto the skinny shoulder where a construction sign was waiting for me to hit. I decided to eat the sign. I couldn't believe that I was actually able to get it stopped before running into the sign. Th kids were screaming and crying. We ended up sitting on the side of the road for ten minutes before we were calm enough to drive again.
Then, west of Chattanooga, we were a mile behind an accident that closed the highway for an hour. Two people ended up having to get airlifted from the scene.
Butwe made it here and are looking forward to a wellearned vacation.
