FOP review from someone who doesn't ride the big rides

Thought this might be helpful. I won't ride space, Everest, ToT, RnR...won't ride MS because claustrophobic ....booked our fast passes at 60 days and of course wanted to try FOP since I do love Soarin. When time came I was a nervous wreck. Kept thinking I might bail. But I sat on banshee, ride constraints came up and I didn't feel claustrophobic at all, was comfortable. So all good. Then ride started...hands down best ride I've ever been on anywhere. Loved every single second. My whole family agreed it was best thing we did on trip. Hope this can help someone who was nervous like me.

Thank you. We are going next week and I'm nervous for it. I don't love soarin but I can do it as long as I don't look down lol. I'm going to attempt to suck it up and ride. Glad you enjoyed it.

Very smooth. Not jerky like star tours can be.

There's definitely a lot of motion but it's smooth unlike star tours. So I would think you'd be ok

Is it jerky for someone with neck issues?

I had a C4 disc replacement 5 years ago AND I get motion sick. I took a Bonine for the vertigo and never felt any discomfort in my neck.

I, too, considered bailing at the last minute, but am so glad I didn't. AMAZING ride!

I also have a tendency to get a bit motion sick on Star Tours. On FoP at the very beginning of the ride I started to feel kind of motion sick mainly from just the disorientation of how the ride starts out. When we started "flying" and then did the first "dive" I felt a bit queasy but I also realized that I was trying to fight the feeling of actually flying. I decided to just give in to the sensation and imagine I was really flying. Once I did that, any motion sick feeling IMMEDIATELY went away and I couldn't believe how much I LOVED this ride. I am one of those people who got teary eyes at various points during the ride because I found it so moving. My advice is to just give in to the sensations you are feeling, do NOT try to fight them.
