We are going for a short trip in September. I know people have been putting AK days later in their schedule to get FOP fastpasses because of limited availability on the first few days they can book FP. We have already ridden it, but we liked Avatar and the ride was amazing so I really want to make sure we get a fastpass for it. But both my kids can ride the Slinky Dog coaster, so I also really want to get a fastpass for it. I am debating on which park should go on the last day - or do you think they will both be hard to get and it doesn't necessarily matter? I'm also not sure which one to go for first when my FP date opens up. I am always on the minute I can book them.

So should our schedule go:

Day 1 - Thursday: (arrival)
Day 2 - Friday: Typhoon Lagoon
Day 3 - Saturday: Magic Kingdom
Day 4 - Sunday: Animal Kingdom - FoP
Day 5 - Monday: (departure) Hollywood Studios - Slinky Dog

OR

Day 1 - Thursday: (arrival)
Day 2 - Friday: Typhoon Lagoon
Day 3 - Saturday: Magic Kingdom
Day 4 - Sunday: Hollywood Studios - Slinky Dog
Day 5 - Monday: (departure) Animal Kingdom - FoP

Thanks in advance!

ETA: our flight leaves at 5:30, so we would need to leave whatever park we go to on our departure day by 2:00ish probably? A fastpass for that day would need to be prior to that time, so that might complicate things too.

These two attractions compete for very different audiences. Though there certainly may be those who want to ride both (OP is a good example), the problem is...how to predict which of those audiences will be heavier on which day. I can't imagine how to foresee that. Since it will be September....I would put Hollywood Studios on Sunday ( a typically heavier day for Animal Kingdom) and put Animal Kingdom on a Monday. All this is ONLY my projection based on almost nothing. I hope you enjoy your trip, no matter what!

Are you taking ME to and from the airport? If so they will pick you up 3 hours before your flight, so for you about 2:30. I would leave the park by 1:30 if you are taking Disney transportation. I am always early, so I would leave by 1PM and hang out at the hotel if I get there early.

You would not have to leave that early if you are driving your self or a car service.

I would not put your most important ride on your departure day.

I think Slinky Dog will be the toughest, since it appeals to all ages.

If slinky dog is as slow as it seems I don’t think it wouldn’t even come close to FOP

Then again, peter pans flight is still difficult of all things lol

I think kids rides are hard to get.

I’d still say FOP will be harder

Thank you! I know it's hard to say since FP for Toy Story are just starting to be able to be booked, but I appreciate all opinions regardless! I just need someone to sway me a bit so I can finalize my schedule. I will be getting my Disney fix so I will be happy either way :)

Not sure yet, I'm okay with a short day at a park on our departure day, but if it really messes with being able to get the fast passes we want I would just uber.

I'm pretty sure that they both will be hard 2 book. That being said it's all relative...& probably around the same waiting time/Standby lines give or take...What I would do, if it were me is stick with the 1st scenario, & try to get FOP if possible, or RD. You should be able to ride that then Navi in a relative short time, provided you get to the park at least 3/4 hour b4 opening...I'm guessing that wouldn't be the case as much for Slinky because I think it'll be a madhouse right at RD... Just my $.02:confused3 Either way Good Luck, and have a great trip.
