FOP magic yesterday!

My sister and I are at WDW for a week, and yesterday we had FP+s for FOP for the morning. Neither of us had been on FOP before, and we got these FP+s at the 60-day mark.

Well . . . we loved the ride and wanted to ride again and again and again!! That isn't possible unless one is willing to wait in line for 2 or 3 or 4 hours.

We had a great day at DAK. Hung out with the goats and sheep at Rafiki's, saw Flights of Wonder, had a delish lunch at Y&Y, then Kali and the safari late in the afternoon, which is a great time to go.

By the time we got off the safari, we were pretty beat and were heading back to the buses, but stopped at the bathroom on the way out. Just for fun, I looked for a 4th FP+. Several posters on the DIS have said that if you keep refreshing the app you'll get different FP+ selections, so I kept refreshing. But, really, I wasn't at it all that long and--amazingly!--got FP+s for FOP for 6 p.m. It was 5 p.m. when I got the FP+s, and at that time the posted wait for FOP was 240 minutes.

To say that we were thrilled is an understatement. We sat at Pizzafari while we waited the hour. As far as FOP goes, the second time was even better than the first. The ride blows away everything else at WDW. My sister and I both love it, and fortunately we have FP+s for Tuesday as well (also made at the 60-day mark).

My advice is: just keep trying. You have no idea what might show up on the app. I could also have snagged FP+s for RoL and Dinosaur, but we were happy to come back to the resort after FOP.

Fantastic. I did the same on our recent trip. I hadn't been able to get a FP+ for FoP in advance, so I tried during lunch at AK one day, and I got one for an hour later with a little refreshing. I've used this tool, if it can be called that, for the past couple of years, with great success. This last trip, I was able to get literally anything I tried for as a 4th or subsequent FP+, including FEA, Soarin' and Test Track at Epcot, 7DMT at MK, and Toy Story Mania at DHS. You just have to be persistent with the refreshing, and same day FP+ can be had for any attraction.

All right. Had to report again. My sister is spending the day resting up whilst I go out and about. With just a few minutes--maybe 5, max--of trying, I got a FP+ for FOP for this afternoon. That's today made today, 4 hours before the FP+ time. Take heart, everyone. There are FP+s for FOP out there. Just keep trying! And I snagged a good time for the safari as well. And could've had NRJ instead of FOP. Plus RoL. FP+s galore. And it's crowded here.

Got lucky. I was in MK yesterday and I checked for an extra FP around noon and only FP available was dumbo and it’s a small world.

Then went to HS and checking there, only FPS available when I checked around 2pm-5pm was Disney JR, Indy, and Little Mermaid.

It’s super busy and FPS are going quick. Some good luck you had to grab FoP

CAS239, I don't mean to disparage your WDW touring skills, but are you repeatedly checking for FP+ availability? It's almost a given that, on the first try, the MDE app will say that there's nothing available for whatever ride you're looking for. But consistently refreshing multiple times almost always bring up different results after a while, as confirmed by Miffy and by my experiences.

We just got home Saturday. On two different days we were able to get 3 same day FP's for FOP for 3 people...none more than 1.5 hours out (we turned down others). One time we tapped our FP for FOP and within a few minutes of walking through the queue we had another for 5 minutes later. We got off the ride and went right back into the FP line. We rode TSMM 4 times in a row this way as well. Being able to get FP's like that actually changed our touring style this trip (allowing for more sleep in the morning).

We did the same thing. One afternoon we were resting at our hotel, and I refreshed fast passes for fun. Got a fast pass for River Journey at 6pm. So we decided to head to AK (literally next door, we were at AKL) for dinner and a boat ride.

This thread is making me so hopeful!! Refreshing might not work when we are there in March as a family of 5, but I am hopeful DH and I will have success when we go without the kids in Oct!

This maybe a really stupid question but on the IPhone how do you keep refreshing? Is there a refresh button or do you go in and out of the app?

When you're on the page showing what fast passes are available, or aren't available, just keep tapping the time that you want it for. That will keep bringing up a new screen with all the attractions. Just scroll down to the attraction that you're looking for to see if a fast past time has appeared. Even if there isn't one for the time you chose, it will show one for any other available time in case you want that. It's often easier to take a FastPass for a time that you don't want, and then just keep trying to modify the time for that one.

Kept checking repeatedly every 15 or so minutes for about 2-3 min at a time. Along with trying to move up a FP earlier. With the crowds right now, there was nothing.

Wasn’t that big of a deal since wife and I are AP’s so I wasn’t going to just keep checking and checking. But crowds are definitely limiting same day FPS right now

We were in Magic Kingdom late around 3 on Saturday and stood in standby line for an hour waiting for Jingle Cruise. Daughter and I checked - non-stop for that entire hour since we didn't have anything else to do and not a single fp showed up for anything earlier than 9 pm unless it was for Mad Tea Party or a character meet/greet. Sometimes it really is just luck - and not lack of effort.

I was quite fortunate, I guess. Of course, I was there a week ago when it may have been less busy. Still, I like to encourage people to keep trying for the FP+ they want, even if MDE says there aren't any. You just never know!

We are a party of 4 and we were at AK today and had our last pre booked FP of the day at 1:10pm for FoP (booked at 60+3 days). I told my daughters that this was their only ride because there wouldn’t be more FPs and standby was at 225 minutes or more at that point (1pm). We rode it for our first time and loved it. Then we exited to the gift shop. Girls were perusing the banshees. I was showing my DH the refresh trick, hoping to get Navi for our 4th FP. After about 4 refreshes, FoP pops up for 4 people, one hour from then! I clicked to take it and it errors out! . My DH was signed into the app on his phone but on my account too. I kept getting the error to book it on my phone, but when he opened the app on his phone, the FPs were booked and in my account! I logged out of the app on my phone and kept it that way until we used those FPs just in case!

We ate lunch at Pizzafari. Back for our 2:55 FPfor ride two on FoP. We scanned our bands and walked up the FP line. I tried to book FPs for FoP again and we got them! Initially for 6:30pm, but refreshing while in the line yielded eventually 4pm FoP FPs! It was crazy to get that for a party of 4 twice in one day! We also got Navi as our 6th FP today. A really great day of refreshing! I never did see FoP or Navi again for the rest of the afternoon, and I did A LOT of refreshing to try for those and others. So it was just luck but SO much fun on our only AK day this trip!

Get out there and refresh. But don’t tell anyone else! Shhh!

It is really hard to visualize this refreshing part because I have never had the opportunity to book a fourth or fifth fast pass. Am I correct in the fact that it can be at a different park? Example the 3 original fp are at MK but I can book fourth at ak?

Yes after your preselected FP’s you can select one for a different park

Last week, I was playing around at home since I have tickets in my MDE.

Anyway, I refreshed for same-day Pooh (it was showing as sold out)....I refreshed for 15 minutes and I never got them. This was for one person

Very little new stuff popped in actually at all.
