FOP and Navi FPs popping up here and there...

So if you wanted to ride and absolutely couldn't get a FP, don't panic. Just on the night before and the day of, keep looking.

I had a last minute trip down there (with ZERO FP+s) and Monday night, layed in bed, refreshing the next morning's fastpasses and several Navi Rivers popped up and a 11:10 Flight of Passage popped up. I grabbed it.

While in Animal Kingdom yesterday, I sat down and refreshed the MDE and saw a 1:15, 3:30, 6:15 just to name a few for Navi.

They're there. Just keep looking!

A friend had your same luck in December, getting a FoP FP+ one morning for 6:30pm that afternoon.

I must just not have any luck. Or perhaps I am just not trying hard enough.

Were you by chance searching for one? I refreshed constantly the day after presidents day but could never get a FOP to show. I did have to search for 2 since it was just me and by 7 year old so wondering if you were searching for 1. I did see Navi pop up a few times.

This has always been the case.

I've mentioned it a few times but on 1/3 DH and I got FoP FP for our 4th and 5th FP, then got a Navi for our 6th. There was another FoP I could have gotten that day but we had a dinner at DS that we wanted to get to so we didn't book the FP and opted to head out instead.

Here's my post from a few days ago on my theory as to why it is easier to get a FP for FoP the day of (or day before) than it is 30 days out

Not really lucky at all. Lot of guests get them as 4th FP. Finding them at 30 days is actually harder in my opinion. More pop up available day of than they do on day 30. Reason is it's easier to catch people changing plans day of when you are working on a compressed time frame like a single day. You'll have dozens of families moving passes around on that day. 30 days out you may only have 1 or 2 a day, if that, and you have to be really lucky to be looking at the right moment

I have my 3 FP scheduled and one is for Navi. Would FoP pop up (if available of course) if I modify the Navi FP?

EDIT: FoP just popped up and I grabbed it for March 10!

Obviously you figured out yes, if you modify the Navi FP, and a FoP is available, it will show up. Answering so others know that is what you did to find it

I don't think you have to click 'modify' though when starting your search. You can just keep searching for FP and when you exceed your limit (total or within a tier), the system will prompt with what you want to do, replace existing FP or keep as is.

No, that is incorrect. You want to go in to the Navi FP and click Modify. If you have a Navi already the only way to get a FoP is to Modify the Navi.
If you didn't book Navi, then you'll need to replace one of the other 3 Tier 2 FP you have so you'd pick the one you plan to drop and Modify it.

Well, I went into the app and played with FP picks today and found, we were each half right (good compromise). If you have your max FP allotment then you must modify one you hold to keep searching. But, if you only hold 1 (tier 1) and keep searching it will continue to show you other tier 1's then will prompt you to keep original or change it, as long ad you're not maxed out on the FP's you can hold.

Yes, you are correct, if you only have 1 and it's not a tier 1 already, then you can use the Add FP function.

I'd venture to guess that most make all 3 when they make their initial FP so Modify is going to be what you use. You can only use the Add FP option when you don't have a Tier 1 already and you don't have 3 Tier 2. Lots of exceptions needed to search that way.

However, even if you have 1 (or 2) Tier 2 booked, you can use Modify to search and it will return Tier 1 and Tier 2 choices. So all in all, Modify is easier to use since you don't have to remember the other method only works under select circumstances. Modify works under all circumstances.

Good point.
When you make just 1 Tier 1 and go back in to make an additional FP for that day you see this, you have to click on the blue link for
"Select a Different Experience"
and then you can see the other Tier 1 FP.
I still believe it is easier to just use Modify from the get go. However, there are several ways to do it and there is no right or wrong way.
