Footwear options for dinners

I’m wondering if we can wear dressy flip flops to dinners on cruise casual and optional dress up nights? Also, what do boys and men wear for those nights?

The only "dress code" for the main dining rooms (for every night) is "no swimwear or tank tops". Beyond that you'll see all manner of dress, from shorts/tshirts to full on formal.

Cruise casual for boys & men would be collared shirts & slacks, and closed-toe shoes.

If your dressy flip flops could pass for regular sandals, they'll be fine. If they're actual beach wear meant only for use by the water, then not so much.

No one will police any of this at the MDRs, as a PP indicated. However, there is a difference between what you can get away with at an MDR, and what is really appropriate there.

After 4 cruises I concluded dressy flip flops are the best footwear! I wore them with a dress every night. I feel wobbly in high heels with the ship movement

It is kind of you to inquire. As others have mentioned, you will see all sorts of outfits and shoes in the MDRs. My best advice is to pick a pair that matches many outfits. On our three cruises I took WAYYYY too many shoes, it was actually pretty silly. I'm pretty sure no one cared what I was wearing!!

Many people where sandals to dinner. So if you have something strapped to your foot, you are fine.

That may be your definition of cruise casual, but for many people that would be considered formal

Disney's definition of cruise casual is a lot more lenient. No swimware ot tank tops
