Footwear for Pirates?

My sons want to dress up for Pirate Night, but I don't know what they should wear for footwear. I know that the big, black boots are all the rage with pirates, but I don't think we could come up with those (Nor do I want to pack them, even if I could find some )

What have your little pirates worn for shoes?

Is this a new store in WDW
Pirates pillage and steal--- so any thing old and worn out will do matey!

For Real--- if they are young you could make boot covers from black material. That's what came with my DS's pirate outfit from the Pirates of Caribbean store in WDW.

I don't have any "little" pirates, both my DD's are wearing either teva sandals or their aqua socks, and I will wear my tevas. I wore my aqua socks when we took the picture below.
We leave for WDW tomorrow and are on the Wonder Thursday.

You could always get black high top Converse canvas sneakers...they can wear them again! Have FUN!

When we dress up as pirates, we wear worn out sandals. It's such an easy costume, especially for the guys - brown or dark colored pajama pants, ripped at the bottom, an oversized mandarin collared white shirt from the thrift store, and a colorful sash and belt. A bandanna and an eyepatch, and you're done!
