When in doubt, head to your doctor. I walked into a rocking chair 5 years ago in the middle of the night and fractured my metatarsals (I was half awake, running to my week old newborn). I thought that my foot was fat and swollen because I had just given birth. Ignored the pain for 3 months and kept walking on it. Doctor said that my bones attempted to heal themselves and I would have issues down the road thanks to me not getting to the doctor when it happened.
Yup, sure enough, that foot has had so many issues (toes constantly breaking due to weakened bones, and then I ran Goofy...which caused my foot to fracture), that I had surgery in February. 3 screws in there forever now, and a lot of pain. Yay!
Moral of the story - if it hurts, get off of it, and have your doctor tell you what's going on.
