I have read all the threads about what shoes to wear, bodyglide and moleskin but have not seen many posts about how to pamper your feet at night after you get back to your room. DF and I went to Disneyland a few years ago and by the end of the day we were almost crawling back to the room our feet hurt so bad. :scared: I am sure a change in footwear etc will help this some, but what else can we do? I have heard some people use golfballs (roll their feet on them) to massage their feet...does this really work? Any other suggestions? I just know my DF won't last a whole 10 days in the parks if his feet are killing him...Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Personally, I just massage my feet every night with lotion and they turn out fine.

I do this for everyday foot relief because I have plantar fascitis. (my foot doc told me to do this)
He told me to take 1000mg of Ibuprofen a day ( I don't do this)
But the best part is to roll your foot over a frozen water bottle. The frozen water will bring down the inflamation in your tendons. This works!

I wish I'd known about this at the beginning of this week (I'm in Orlando now, and boy, do my feet hurt tonight). I'm going to put a bottle of water in the freezer right now (if I can hobble into the kitchen! :rotfl2: ).

First off i took 2 pair of shoes ..At night id soak in hot water in the bath..Then id rub them dry and i had blue emu stuff from walmart 5 bucks..
And i took ibuprofen at night so they didnt hurt to much that i couldnt sleep..In the mrning after my shower i rubbed them again with the blue emu stuff and put on my socks and off wed go ..Its called blue gooo .Has emu and other stuff in it ..Works like ben gay but not as strong...I love it ..And isnt as costly as the stuff on tv...Good luck message me if any questions...

I always get a manicure prior to leaving for the world. Not just so I have pretty toenails (but I do like that). It takes care of over grown toenails, hangnails, callouses, etc. It does help during the week.

I like the frozen water bottle idea. We always bring a case of water and throw it in the freezer, so I will have this ready to go!!

Thanks,

shelly

DH and I take turns giving eachother foot massages with lotion each night. This helps prevent any cracks due to dry feet as well as a nice end to a busy day.

I found sitting with my feet in the resort hot tub helped. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, well broken in, and good socks. I wore comfy shoes with new socks my first day at WDW and my feet really took a beating. The socks rubbed in all the wrong places. I wore my old socks (glad I brought them) and my feet were fine the other days.

St. Ives makes a hand and foot scrub that feels great to massage on in the tub or shower. I didn't have it for my trip but it's great after a long day at work.

My receipe for this has been after taking a hot shower, I rub my feet and legs with Absorbine Jr.. Seems the linament in this product works better when the pores are open from a hot shower. Feels good on the feet, especially the bottoms but it does have a smell, but not too bad. Has saved me from some sore muscles while at WDW.

My feet always hurt, so I'm very careful with them at WDW. I always take Motrin at night and again in the morning. I have a little blow up foot bath that came from Avon that I put a little Jafra Peppermint foot soak (or some bath salts) into, then fill it with hot water and soak my feet. After the water cools a little I rub in some Jafra Peppermint lotion, and if they are really hurting I rub in some Jafra Peppermint foot mask, lay down, place my legs on a towel and then place another towel over them. The mask makes them get really cold, but feels so good. In the morning if my feet still hurt I rub them with either Biofreeze (with Ilex) or Body Glide also makes a 'warm fx muscle formula' that works well on sore muscles. In the morning I rub my feet with Arrid antipersperant and then either Bodyglide antichafing or Avon antichafing oint.

Thanks for this wonderful tip as that is what I am doing right now!

Wow! :goodvibes Thank you all so much for the wonderful tips, I will defnitely be using whatever I can for our trip, wish I had found the Disboards before my Disneyland trip 2 years ago lol.:rotfl:

DH had 'barkin' dogs' at night during our last trip.:scared: After a hot shower, I'd rub his back and his feet with odorless Bengay and then he'd put socks on and hit the sack. He says it was the perfect remedy for his feet and back.
