Foods you used to hate...but changed your mind...

calamari...I love seafood but this just seemed over the top to me. Ewwwwww, it's a squid...but DANG...those puppies are Gooooooood :thumbsup2 ...whodda thunk????? :confused3 :teeth:

brussels sprouts, eel, and green beans. Now eat eat them all but as far as green beans will only eat the plain cut ones not the french cut.

For me, I never ever ate raw tomatoes. Didn't mind cooked tomatoes in things, just can't do them raw. I also don't like peppers.

I started liking salsa - with tomatoes and peppers in it. I can now have diced tomatoes on things like tacos, fajitas and the like. Can't do tomato slices though, but I don't mind the diced ones.

Okra! Now I am making up for the 30-odd years I shunned it. Silly me.
Wings! Especially honey barbecue wings!
Asparagus!

That is the advantage of being a picky eater. I am finding "new" things I like all the time.

I used to hate bagels and cream cheese and cheesecake. Two of my absolute favorite foods now.

None, once I hate it I hate it. I am the same way with people too.

Sour Cream. I hated it! Mustard (wanted mayo on everything, still do, but at least now the Mustard shares my hot dogs!) Nuts. I hated nuts. Now I crave most nuts. Almonds, walnuts, pecans, I even like cashews! Don't get me to Texas roadhouse where they give you peanuts to shell :goodvibes

I am the opposite. I used to LOVE calamari, but I guess I had always gotten the rings. Last time I ordered them, they were tentacles and all, and I ate 2, felt so guilty I thought I was going to be sick, and nearly swore off meat for good. I couldn't get over the fact that I ate baby squids!

Mine that I hated as a youngster are broccoli and olives. Love them both now, and broccoli used to make me gag.

yuk, go brush your teeth sexy

broad beans, yuk. but m.i.l served them with parsley sauce and they were fab :cool1:

For me, it's sauerkraut. Mom used to bribe me to eat just a spoonful on New Year's Day for luck. I'd gag it down begrudgingly but now we eat it all the time. Pork roasted in apples and sauerkraut is one of my favorite meals.

When I was a late teen-ager I hated spicy food, mushrooms and any fish. Now, 20 years+ later, I love all of it! There is very little I will not eat now, but I have never deveoped a taste for beets.

I once went to a friends house for dinner and they served Asparagus, it was disgusting!! Never tried it again until adulthood when I dared myself to try it again. This time it was yum, yum, yum!

My friends parent 20 years ago must have served canned. Freshly steamed is fantastic.

Bacon was my thing.
I used to hate the smell of bacon cooking. So I refused to eat it.

Now, I aboslutely love bacon. Big, thick slices of bacon. Yummy.
