Hi everyone,
Been exercising (daily on treadmill & abdominal exercises, and alternating weights every other day) and the up side is I am losing weight and inches, and getting better at it. But the down side is I am starting to feel more tired. I have given up caffeine and pasta, both foods which give me extra energy, but which aren't good choices for me. Any ideas of low-calorie foods that can help your body bounce back from exercise sessions?

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

Try a protein shake- especially after you work out with weights. You can get a big container of Designer Protein at GNC and it gives a great boost. I mix it with soy milk and some frozen berries in a blender. Yummy!

Thanks Annie,
That sounds really good. I already have a shake I make with soy milk, but using specifically a protien shake may make the difference. I think you are right- adding the weights to my routine is what has caused the change, as I didn't have this problem when I was just using the treadmill. I just don't want to get so tired and discouraged that I give up on the weights because I think they're going to make a difference.

Thanks again!:wave2:

They will Kathy! I was into heavy lifting with a trainer about 2 years ago, trying to improve the strength, mainly in my back, because I found I have deteriorating bones in my neck (long story) Anyway, as I began a TOTAL body workout my appetite SOARED and I gained a lot of muscle. I actually gained 7 pounds, but because it was all muscle people kept asking me how much weight I LOST!

The trainer told me about the protein shakes. You should try to drink them within 20 minutes after your workout. I like the strawberry flavor!
