??? What foods do you keep in your hotel room ???

On our trip, we always pick up a box of instant Oatmeal! Warm up some water in the coffee maker, and there we go... A quick, healthy way to start the day! :cheer2:

Chips, licorice, soda, ..................Basically just junk! I do like to buy those little boxes of chocolate chip muffins. I forget who makes them. But really, aren't those just junk too? :rotfl:

Yum... Yum... Yes.. those are great! They are made by Hostess :teeth:

We always have a fridge in our room so fruits/veggies soda, water, gatorade,we travel with crackers and a jar of peanut butter as well as a box of cereal. Then we have your typical junk, candy bars, microwave popcorn etc!

Bottled water!

But as for foods, I just picked up some snacks at our Food Lion that were on sale 3/$5 : Toy Story fruit snacks (for DH ;) )
Apple oatmeal bars (yummy yummy)
Fruit roll ups (yeah, so what! I am a kid at heart ;) )

This are nice to snack on to hold us over. Plus I carry the fruit snacks and oatmeal bars with us in the backpack in case we get the munchies while in the parks. Be aware though! The oatmeal bars can get crushed, and the fruit snacks get squished!

We of coarse also bring the little variety cereal boxes that you just open and pour the milk in. Brings me back to the days of being in girl scouts and being on a camping trip with our troop :flower: Those always work great with milk or even just to open and snack on!

We are hitting Costco this coming trip. We are getting Muffins (those big ones on the tray thingy), bagels, apples, bananas, baby carrots, milk, ham, turkey, cheese, bread, little baggies of chips, string cheese, Take 5 candy bars (YUMMMM), BOTTLED water, juice boxes, Fruit 2 O, and I think that is it really.

We are bringing WITH us from home, individual cereal bowls (just peel off the top, pour the milk in), fruit snacks, peanut butter, jelly and applesauce cups. Paper plates, plastic knives and spoons, packets of mayo and mustard (even though we might just "steal" these things instead from the food court...SHHHHH! :rolleyes1 )

We plan to eat all our breakfasts in the room before heading out and then eating lunch or dinner in the room as well of the sandwiches/chips/carrots/fruit, depending on the day. We will eat one meal per day out, either sit down or counter service.

We just found at Dollar Tree stores, these Cereal BOWLS, not the boxes. They are about 2oz each of cereal and you just peel the top off and you have your bowl of cereal! They came 4 to a pack for $1! Most were sugary cereals though, but had a couple decent choices.

Oh.... Oh...Oh.... Dont forget fruit cups and pudding cups! These work great! :thewave: and the kids love them!

costco muffins, cereal, bottled water, juice boxes, goldfish and fruit snacks, diet pepsi and milk. we always bring disposible bowls, spoons and cups for the kids :earsboy:

We don't leave home without a hot pot and instant oatmeal. My DD (4) must and I mean must have it every morning, first thing. She's not a morning person and only becomes human after digesting instant oatmeal! :rotfl:
We also bring peanut butter and usually ceral.

Our son is the same way :teeth: He has to have his Apples and Cinnamon oatmeal EVERY morning and then he starts moving!

Any suggestions of appropriate foods to bring for a stay at a Value Resort? I've read that they don't have coffee pots, so that isn't an option to use to "cook" with. We'll be bringing a travel cooler (the ones that plug into the car...on clearance at Target for $30 right now) and will use that to keep sandwiches in for the ride down, and store milk for cereal for DS to have cereal. I've been thinking of doing a Disney cereal and Disney fruit snacks to keep that magic alive ;) I was just wondering what foods hold up in a backpack for a day in the parks?

Thanks for any suggestions!
Tish

We do the small cereal boxes, also rice crispy treats, goldfish crackers, teddy grahams, all individual packs, and juice boxes. The pudding is a great idea! I always forget they have the kind that doesn't need refrigeration. ::yes:: We bring our own bowls/spoons, and also straws for my 3 yr old who tends to spill when he drinks out of a cup the regular way!

:)
