My husband Lynn and I wanted to get a fast Food & Wine trip in without using more than 2 vacations days from work. I also was excited to try to the new multi lightning lanes and Individual selections and pre booking them all 7 days in advance. It was a great experience highly recommend. We had to get up at 4:30 am and left house by 4:55 am to drive to DFW airport took about. 30 minutes this early, traffic lighter still.
We parked and went in checked our bag and we both have TSA pre check so quickly in and went to Admirals lounge to wait. I had a cappuccino and got a yogurt to take on plane too early for me to eat yet. Lynn had an omelet but also took a yogurt and he had coffee.
We boarded on-time at 6:30 and had nice flight to Orlando landed 10:30 Orlando, got our bag quickly and met our Lyft to Caribbean Beach resort drop off bag with bell services and headed to Epcot. We love Food & Wine and trying some new things this time plus old favorites.
We went to Earth Eats first we each got the beef ribs on polenta; flavor was amazing mine was a little fatty then we shared lemon poppy cake which was good and light. Then we rode living with the land. Then Lynn was still hungry so he got a chicken stir fry in seasons in there. I tasted it but it was sweet and sour so I don’t like that but he did. I got a Powerade because of heat and being sweaty. I had got another lightening lane for Soarin once we scanned into living with land so time for that now. We got middle row so it was great ride Next we had to hurry to Figment for our lightening lane were 8 minutes past end time but I knew they allow up to 10 past. We had fun ride
Now we went to our Frozen Lightening Lane and had a great time. This reminds me of our trip to Norway 2 years ago, we went through shops after and I got a bottle of my favorite perfume, geesh the small bottle is $70 now but I guess worth it.
After that we decided to do more Food & Wine. We did Mexico first and both got the beef flautas, very good and shared the elote desert which was surprisingly good. Lynn got a poblano margarita he liked it but said not very spicy.. then he got beef noodle bowl at Noodles. I tasted it was pretty good. Next is brew wing lab. Lynn got the Carolina reaper wings, I did NOT taste this. He loves spicy but even he was sweating etc. I got the small elderberry Serrano hard cider, it was good. Lynn got the lager. But he had to go get the pickle milk shake to help with his after heat from wings. lol. I tasted it was okay I guess but I do really like dill pickles. I see why it sells though with those wings though to cool the heat.
From there it was time for our Guardian's lightening Lane. It was a great ride. This is our third time coming with it now. I think I am starting to see the different music, this time we got ‘one way or another’. After that we went to Moana Journey of water, first time here before it was too crowded. Then saw Walt statue and got pictures. Then last ride was LL for spaceship earth .
After this is was just after 7 and pouring. Our ponchos etc are still in our suitcase so we headed out anyways, and made it to our room, a little confusing to find we are in Aruba section was is great for Skyliner on second floor.
Everything in my pack back is soaked, I am soaked including all my clothes even our shoes, Lynn called for our luggage and we tried laying everything out to dry I jumped in hot shower and heard our luggage come so I was glad it didn’t take too long. I came out and unpacked and got some dry clothes etc.
It was a long fun, but exhausting day. I am so glad we got 6 attractions in with lightening lanes with zero waits. Food & Wine did not disappoint. I was glad for rain it soaked us but cooled us down but also uncomfortable being so wet. We were in bed by 9 pm.
