I will be at DL on April 26th. The Food & Wine schedule shows that Widmer Beer (mmmm, Hefeweizen), Karl Strauss Brewing and a few wineries will have "shows" throughout the day over in DCA. What exactly are these about?

Well last year my husband went to a couple of the beer tastings. He had to get there a bit early, and they had tables set up where you tasted the different beers, and they talked about them. I'm not a beer drinker, so I'm not sure what exactly went on, but he really enjoyed it.
We'll be getting there the same day as you!

Where did you find the schedule? I would love to do some beer tasting.

Is there a fee?

Ok, I found it. I guess I am not very smart. I would think they would put it on the regular schedule.

Cafe Orleans Crepes sounds good. And Junior Chef, I am so excited.

i'm not so sure you can do jr chef AND wine tasting

i did it a couple of years ago, not wine tasting, but attended a demonstration. free food. you just show up a bit before the demonstration, first come, first serve.

i have photos, i guess i never uploaded them tho (and of course my hard drive crashed, so we'll see about that)

We'll be there that weekend too. We are getting there on Thursday though. Hopefully we won't be getting in too late that day though. Where is the Pacific Wharf Stage and Demonstration kitchen? Is it something they just put up for the F&WF? I have been there lots of times, but I can't picture it in my head. :upsidedow

Looking on the map that I have for DCA, I do not see anything about a stage in the Pacific Wharf area. There is the Pacific Wharf Distribution Co. which features Karl Strauss beer. It is in the back corner of the area. I would assume that it would be there.

I would have no idea where the Demonstration kitchen is.

Sounds like a few of us will be at DLR on the 26th. Hope to see you at the tastings. :drinking1
