Can anyone give us feedback on these from last year.
How did they go?

Thanks,
Cheryl

We went to the one that Todd English held and it was very good! I didn't care for all of the food he made, but it was neat to watch in person and get to try everything. I'm definitely looking forward to going again this year. If you search the forum there are several people who wrote up a review of their experience.

They need to work on the serving of the food though. He made an ice cream float type thing for dessert and by the time we received ours the ice cream was completely melted.

I attended the one from the chef of Farallon in San Francisco. It was great. The food was wonderful and they even accomodated my food allergy. The wine was also plentiful. I thought it was a good value even though $75 seemed like a lot for lunch. I'm hoping to go again this year.

Sounds great. I would like to go.
Is there info somewhere on this?

Excellent..keep the reviews coming. Thanks everyone..we want to try one of these this year. sure wish disney would release the info.

I attended the one with Rick Bayless. I've seen his cooking shows on PBS, and he's just as entertaining in person!

Check out the Mickey bread! :teeth:

He specializes in Mexican food, and his meal was very tasty!
The wines paired with his meal were all Mumm sparkling wines.
I felt like I was celebrating something. Oh yeah. My birthday was that week. :p

Rick is based out of Chicago, so it amused me greatly to travel a
thousand miles to have someone from my neck of the woods
cook for me.

I'd definitelly do another Lunch and Learn.

I attended the Lunch & Learn at Jiko with Gale Gand and Rick Tramunto - and while it was great, I would say that it was our least favorite Food and Wine Fest Special Meal (Also Went to 2 Party for the Senses, 2 Food and Wine Pairings, and 1 Sign. Dinner Last year).

Nothing specific - just didn't really learn anything I could use at home ( Honestly, I am NOT going to make homemade Mozzarella, nor am I going to make blue cheese Foam) - Plus the dessert was the very same one that Gale had served at that week's "Party" (and I was hoping for something different - because she is a renown Dessert Chef!). One other thing was the timing - alot of Wine at the LONG midday meal seemed to eat up alot of our vacation time ;)

I just thought I rec'd much better value for $$ at Food and Wine Pairings, "Party", and Signature Dinner (which ran from $35 each to $125 each). I doubt I will sign up for another, unless a Chef that I REALLY want to see will be there while I am...

(Note - I've read other L &L reviews - and all of them have been positive - Mine being the only dissenting opinion --- But there you have it!)

Hi Nasmith..

Well I do have to say..we were at the party of senses and Gales dessert was less than impressive..so I bet you were a bit disappointed. Like you, we were really expecting something special from such a famous pastry chef..lol.
