I know there is a wrist band that I believe you can put up to $1500 on and use that but I don't believe it has any discounts, just makes life easier when eating around World Showcase.
If you've already done it before, that might save you $ right there.
We've found that some of the kiosks/countries have the same choices year after year. So, we don't need to re-try the items we were "meh" on - and know to save stomach room and $ for our faves.
We check the kiosk menu options online before we go, so know what tempting new goodies we want to try and where they are. This also helps pace our food intake and money!
Also, even when the portions are small, DH and I typically split each item. That way, at least we get a taste and can always get another if we REALLY loved it.
We only filled our swipey wristband cards (each of us had one) for $50-$75 at a time (can reload them easily, but there's a mind-game going on of "I only have $ left, do I really want that?"). Otherwise, you can get swipe-happy and really drain the cards quickly.
Good luck and have fun...still think of those Red Stag frozen lemonades from the Fife and Drum next to the US pavilion - yum!
I think that sharing the items and brining your own water/beverage to drink are the two biggest money savers. I do get a few of the beverages but I don't find the need to want to try those as much as the foods. I bring a couple bottles of water and only get a few of the drinks that I think I will really like. For instance, the Sunny Guava with coconut rum in China - I budget to get that one a few times & I don't share it!!!
AP holders, DVC members and TiW cardholders have gotten discounts on select seminars and events in the past. I don't know of any AAA discounts.
If you're looking to save on food and beverages purchased in the kiosks, you might want to take a look at buying Disney GCs at Target. With the RedCard discount and the pharmacy rewards discount, you will save about 10% off of the face value of the GCs. Instant savings on anything that you get at Disney!
Sadly I cannot give any tips, I always spend $$$$$$$$ at F&W. I think the RedCard tip for buying a gift card would be the best tip, there are no discounts at the kiosks. We do split pretty much all the food we try, unless it just doesn't appeal to the other person, so that we can try more things.
This is some great advice! This should save us this year! We are doing a complete day of F&W and just pace ourselves. I am going to use all these tips and will look into the RedCard idea, since I don't have a clue what it is, so I must read up on it! Thank you all for the help!
