Food sensitivities?

Has anyone taken an MRT test for food sensitivities? My DD8 has had belly pain for a year now. We have done a lot of tests and learned what she has and what she has not, but still no relief of pain. We just did this MRT test through a nutritionist and naturopath doctor. I am not a fan of un-traditional medicine, but we are at the end of our rope!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how accurate the test is. She had 8 foods come up in the "red" zone, and the nutritionist suggested this very restricted diet to eliminate all but her least sensitive foods. Can anyone tell me if they have had success with this, and if the foods listed as sensitive were accurate?

never had the test but had belly pain and other issures for years. I found out that if I elimited all food and did just the BART diet and added foods one by e I did good.

I haven't done this test but I was sick for years with the docs telling me I had IBS. NO. My regular doc recommended avoiding gluten even though I had tested negative for celiacs. I tried it and at first it was GREAT. When I first started I just ate meat and veggies because it was so hard to find GF food. Then I started adding GF processed foods to my diet and got sick again.

I finally determined it was SOY that makes me sick. The problem with that is it is in everything. Seriously, most vitamin E is made from soy so I can't use lip balm or most shampoos/conditioners, lotions, soaps etc. If I touch it and touch my mouth or eat something with my hands I get sick. Don't even get me started on food. There are no processed foods that don't have soy somewhere in the production. The only premade foods I eat are soy free things made in soy free factories. The only place I eat out is Disney Table Service (counter service doesn't have very good training in my experience) because they are the only place that can deal with my allergy. It is soooo worth it though. For the first time in years I'm not sick all the time. Take her off soy. Only wash her hair with baby shampoo and buy some California Baby calendula lotion if she needs lotion. Be careful of anything that comes in contact with her. See how that works. Go on line and get a list of all the different names of soy derivatives. MSG is made from soy. Tocopherol acetate, soy. Anything labeled vegetable is almost certainly soy. Vegetable broth, vegetable oil, vegetable protein, soy.:furious:
Good luck.

Humm mabey Ill go soy free for awile. I still have issues and its driving me nuts. Its only after eating.

This is my personal opinion so take it for what it is worth. Having a son that is plagued with multiple food allergies, migraines and stomach issues, I firmly believe the only accurate way to determine the cause is to do an elimination diet. Yes, it is a royal pain but if it is done right, it will give you the answers you seek. There isn't a single type of allergy test on the market that is extremely accurate. We still have our son allergy tested because it helps give us a direction to go in but it just doesn't provide all the answers.

My son also did an elimination diet with an allergist and dietician both involved at a clinic at a large teaching hospital near me.
We were able to identify numerous food intolerances that were affecting his health and we now have the whole thing under control after years of on-going problems.

If you google sue dengate or the food intolerance network you may find some information that is helpful and well supported by medical research.

Good luck.

We did do this MRT food sensitivity test, and the big one that came up for her (among others) is corn--which also is in everything, between corn syrup, corn starch, corn flour, etc. We have completely changed her diet to the foods that were in the ok range for her, but she is feeling pretty lousy with it. I just wanted to see if it was worth it! And if these results were accurate by anyone who also might have taken this test. It's the skeptic in me...
