Please share your food related funnies!

Here is one from yesterday:

The whole family gathered at my dad's house for a Labor Day cookout, lots of food, kids had a blast playing on a slip & slide and being with family.

Well I made a dessert pizza (pampered chef recipe) were you use sugar cookie dough to make a big pizza sized cookie. You then mix 8 oz of cream cheese with 1/3 cup sugar and spread over the cooled cookie and add fruit of your choice. I used strawberries, blueberries & kiwi.

Here is the funny:
My dad really doesn't care for cream cheese but he didn't see me mix it up so he has no idea there is cream cheese in it. I waited to add the topping and fruit until just before we were ready to eat it. Dad is talking about how good it looks, etc. So he has a piece and goes on and on about how delicious it is. My sister says "I thought you didn't like cream cheese". My dad, "that's not cream cheese, I don't like cream cheese and I know what it tastes like, I'd know if it was cream cheese, that is not cream cheese."

I'm just like "shhhhhh.......:rolleyes1"

He enjoyed several pieces of dessert pizza......and still swears that it isn't cream cheese.......:)

Ok, here's one of mine....

All my boys have been picky eaters at one time or other. So when my oldest was about 7 he was very into history. ie. Romans, Vikings, etc. My husband made stuffed artichokes. We doubted DS would be willing to try them, but we thought for sure if he did he would like them. So we told him they were "Roman Food". "This is what the Roman's loved to eat." So he tried it and LOVED IT! I'm not sure if he remembers this or not, but he still loves stuffed artichokes!

;)

My story wasn't funny at the time but it is now. I was about 11 or 12 and my mom decided to let me make pancakes all by myself. I followed the recipe to a T (or so I thought). I gave my younger brother the first bite. He chewed for about 3 seconds before spitting it out. Turns out instead of adding 1/4 teaspoon of salt I added 1/4 cup of salt. Pickling salt. He didn't trust me for a while after that LOL

When I was a child, I hated to take medicine. One day my mother made dinner and I had "special" mashed potatoes (one of my favorite foods at the time). No one else had mashed potatoes. Unknowing to me, I had potatoes that had medicine in them! I ate them, but still to this day (30 years later!), if we have mashed potatoes at my mom's house, I have to ask if they were specially made for me. Fortunately, for my mother, I was a pretty healthly child!
