food pics only?

I love looking at the food pictures to help decide where I want to eat on our next trip. Is it possible to have a thread with just the pictures and which eatery they came from. I love the forum and come to it frequently.

I understand the forum is set up for opinions and comments but I am really just looking for pictures. Thanks a bunch.

Hi ... There is a great thread under Disney Restaurants - that have hundreds of food pics - its a sticky, so it will be at the top of the first page - enjoy

I agree with the OP; the existing thread is OK, but tiring to read! There are photos, and then people quote them and comment, which makes you waste time scrolling through them after you just saw them; combined with the HUGE sig. some have on every post... some pages you scroll all the way through without one new pic!!

How about one thread with food pics, with what and where ONLY? No quoting, no comments, no repeating, no questions, NOTHING but pics? I'm all for comments and discussion; but can't we have one thread set aside where one could see page after page of pics, WITHOUT all the repititon that wastes so much time? We could comment on the pics in other threads...

How 'bout it? If this is a go, I have several pics I'd love to share...

amen - couldn't agree with you more - just the food pix, nothing more!

thought i was the only one who finds the comments, repeats, oversized sigs & pix of the family dog unnecessary on a food pix thread....

You can go to your User CP and turn off the signatures if they bother you. That way you can view threads without the posters signatures being visible to you.

I love the current food thread. I tend to skip over the chatter and just look at the pictures.

Now if something really catches my eye, I will ask the poster a question about it. I don't see anything wrong with that.

This forum is all about discussion and questions; I'm all for that... but for some reason folks feel the need to quote- which includes copying the pic ... some of us try to read the threads on dial-up (no cable on my road yet) and give up trying due to the multiple repeats of the same pics!

I would love to see a given pic with caption only- no comment, no emoticons, JUST the pic- and see it ONLY ONCE! The existing thread is fine; but sometimes you just want to see the food pics- one time- then on to the next one... any comments or copies deleted!

If a moderator reads this: Would this be an acceptable idea? If so, I will gladly start a thread with my pics!!

I have been thinking since that thread is so popular that you could make a webpage out of it on Dis, not the boards just the regular part of the site, and people could submit their own pictures and if you click on the restaurant name it would basically have a picture menu. Please please that would be the coolest.

I think that if were to start a thread like this it should be .... picture with description of meal (ex: liver & onions), location, and rating (YUCK, OK, or YUMMY)

I really like looking at all of the pictures, but I don't like having to go through all of the other commentary.

Maybe instead of a thread this could be included in the PHOTO area of the DIS.

Great idea. I dont like the the qoutes where the food pic is copied even though I am probably guilty of doing that myself!

The hard part would be keeping folks from saying anything!! And then what to do when they do say something anyway--.
I'll discuss this with the other mods and we'll see what's what.

I LOVE this suggestion. Have thought it myself many times. I'll start reading the food photo thread and find 1 new picture out of 3 or 4 pages due to comments and folks coping photos already posted into their quotes.

It could be stated in the starting post, "This is a picture LIST ONLY- no comments allowed... please save those for another thread." Then if someone comments, quotes, or copies, those could be deleted- thereby leaving a list of pics only!! I would sure love it... hope you all will allow it!!

I think that's asking a lot of the mods. People will see something they like and they WILL ask questions about it. People will comment on the pictures.

I don't think it's possible to have a thread on a discussion board without any discussions.

Side note .... there is no folder in the PHOTO section of the DIS for pictures of the water parks either, so maybe they could be added together.

That may be how it'll end up--I just can't envision folks not commenting on the pics and I really don't want to be deleting dozens of well-intended posts on a daily basis.That'll just get another group of posters mad, in spite of any guidelines we may post.
