Need some help. We usually go to Disney World in August on Free Dining, but will be going to Disneyland next August. Do they have any August dining specials?

We usually make reservations for most of our meals in Orlando, but it looks like there is a better assortment of Counter Service options at DLR. Is there enough variety of Counter Service to go a few days on without getting tired of burgers and fries?

TIA

I think they are plenty of options for counter service. At Disneyland we like Rancho Del Zocalo for mexican and Redd Rocket's Pizza Port for good pasta (chicken fusilli). Plaza Inn, Riverbelle Terrace and French Market are all counter service that don't have burgers and fries.

For table service we like Carnation Cafe (loaded baked potato soup) and Cafe Orleans (Monte Cristo and Pommes Frites).

At DCA we like Farmers Market (chicken caesar salad), Pacific Wharf has soups and salads in bread bowls, Taste Pilot's has good burgers and fries. They just reopened Lucky Fortune Cookery which is rice bowls with your choice of meat (no idea if it's good or not!).

Our favorite table service at DCA is Wine Country Trattoria.

Disneyland does not have a dinning plan like they do at WDW. They have a prepaid "voucher" program but it does not save you money, and in fact you can lose money if you do not purchase something of the value of the voucher.
