Food in Walt Disney Theater? Cabin Electricity?

Hi, I am a veteran cruiser, but new to Disney. We will be sailing on the Dream. I have read conflicting information about the following topics and am hoping to get some clarification.

1. Can I bring unwrapped cookies into the Walt Disney Theater? I have read suggestions to grab snacks from the buffet or room service, but saw elsewhere that food has to be prepackaged.

2. I know that the cabin lights won't work without some type of card in the slot, but what about the outlets (for charging things) and A/C?

Thanks!

As for the food in theater. Yes. Bring anything from the ship or one of your prepackaged items with you.

As for the prepackaged item. They just don't want home made items brought onto the ship. So no turkey and cheese sandwiches that you just made at home. Far fetched but I hope you get the idea.

Our outlets have always worked for charging. Just adjusts the cooling and lighting.

On our last cruise the CMs were turning anyone with food away at the evening shows in the Walt Disney theater. Sodas, popcorn, candy were fine but we saw them say no to French fries, tenders, ice cream cones, and someone with a plate from the buffet.

Someone trying to take a plate from the buffet into the movie theater? Where do these people think they are? Whatever happened to manners?

Never mind. Don't tell me. I already know.

No pizza! I know that one, it's a running joke with CMs backstage.
But I guess it goes for all the quick service.

I thinks it's pretty much, if it comes on and plate and/or cutlery is needed to eat it, it's probably a no.

Heck, a few years ago a friend and I were watching 110 in the Shade on Broadway and someone near us in the mezzanine broke out a whole picnic basket. It was ridiculous.

You probably shouldn't try to bring anything messy. No mashed potatoes and gravy lol

I take pizza and even a "turkey" leg when I go to see a movie in the big theater. However your match may vary.

We have taken deck foods such as pizza and burgers into the Buena Vista theater, and the Walt Disney theater when they're showing a movie. But never into one of the main stage shows. If you do take food into the theaters please make sure and clear your plates when you're done!

In my experience, anything goes in the Buena Vista Theater. I can't find the photo I took, but there was basically a full plate from cabanas at one of our movies on the Wonder not long ago.

The Walt Disney Theater - no "meal" type foods. Only typically "show" type snacks, candy, popcorn, although small other items have been allowed - cookies, chips, ice cream.

The "card in the slot" only affects the lights. Not the AC or outlets. Although, I'd be cautious about leaving things charging while not in the room.

Well that's because there's no cruise staff stopping you for movies lol.
I honestly don't really care either way but sometimes the smell of other people's 'snacks' can be a little offensive.

Besides the smell, if they didn't stop people from bringing in "food items" the WDT would be trashed in no time. Many people are just not cognizant of the fact that whatever leftovers/trash they have should be removed with them when they leave. Nope...time and again I see people leave their plate on the floor where other people are either stepping over or into it. Gross. They have to draw the line somewhere.

People even leave their popcorn and snack wrappers all over.

I agree. If I want to be around a plate of shrimp, or full on hamburger & fries, I'll head for Cabanas or the pool. In the movies I'd rather watch the movie.

I've seen people leave a half eaten plate of food halfway up the stairs because they're done with it and can't be bothered to take it another 10 steps up and find a table to put it on...

One our cruise last month, we had ordered the All Hands On Deck platter in our stateroom, but it took longer to be delivered than I expected. By the time we got it, it was time to head to the Walt Disney theater for the show. The crew member at the door asked me to take the cover off the plate to make sure that I was not taking any hot food inside.
