Food help!

We are planning to drive from Denver to Disneyland in June. What are your recommendations for food that we can take with us in the car? Any favorites? Trying to keep it cheap!

Also, the room we are getting has a refrigerator, but no microwave. Thoughts on things we can eat for breakfast in the room?

Where are you staying in Anaheim? I don't know what grocery store chains you have in your area, but in California, you will find Vons. You can sign up for a loyalty card and get sale prices. Also there is a nice Target near DL. As far as what to bring in the car, I would just pack simple things, like fruits, cheese, yogurt, etc.

If it's a baby fridge (which I suspect), I might have...

Vanilla yogurt parfaits (individual greek yogurts, blueberries or raspberries, nuts or granola or chocolate chips) - this could work as a breakfast or an evening treat...
(If you wanna spoil yourself) Smoked salmon and cream cheese with bagels out of the fridge - very small fridge footprint and a wonderfully decadent breakfast which would cost $10+/bagel onsite...(capers or dill would take this over the top, but more work than I'd do on vacation)
Milk for cereal - have bananas and/or apples and/or oranges out and cereals out and use the milk to have the classic breakfast - I'd double use the milk for coffee...

In terms of what to bring in your car, from road tripping across the country experience, so long as you've got a cooler with ice, you can bring just about anything.

I'd definitely suggest granola bars, dried fruit (mangos are my favorite & hate to say it, but the Walmart kinds are the tastiest), nuts, fruits such as apples, oranges, and bananas -- the simple stuff -- and yogurts that can be placed into the cooler. If you run out of ice, we were able to keep ice cool for DAYS, so I doubt that'll be an issue, you can always just pick that up at rest stops. Goldfish and some sweets to pep you up are also a good treat as well.
