Hello.

I am trying to get a large selection of cafes/restaurants/diners together so wherever we are I can decide on lunch/dinner in a second.

There will be 11 of us on this trip and although me & df will spend most of the time alone there will be several family outings and I would like to be able to show of my extensive knowledge of food places! :teeth:

Please help me!

Where is...

Chillis - I think there is one on i-drive but where? Is there another in Kissimmee?

Golden Corral - I have the details for Kissimme but where is it located on i-drive?

I have a good selection of possibilities for the parks, Would you recommend a PS for sci-fi at MGM?

We are staying in a villa in Hampton Lakes, Anyone got any recommendations for this area?

Thankyou :sunny:

Hi Jodi,

Just got back today - for a good b'fast I would go to Shonney on the 192, had a great b'fast there yesterday morning..yum yum yum...

Also if you can get to it I would recommend The Cheesecake Factory at The Mall at Millienia (I-4, at Conroy Road, just after Universal) excellent food and the most amazing Cheesecake selection and the service was excellent both times we went.... (be warned VERY large portions, so you will have to get cheesecakes to go!!)

Enjoy...we need!!

Nat

I think we will be making a trip to the mall just to get cheescake, It is my df fave desert!

There's a Chillis on the 192 in Kissimmee. From memory it is heading East off of World Drive and somewhere just after Old Town? (On the Old Town side)

From what I can gather, the Golden Corral is just south of the Sand Lake Road junction (near to the Harley Davidson store).

Go to Sweet Tomatoes at the top of I-Drive, near wet n wild.

It's dirt cheap, and the food is fantastic - all pretty healthy & vegetarian but don't let that put you off :teeth:

We always fill up here, usually on our shopping day

Sweet Tomatoes is great. You could also try Race Rock on I-Drive, Outback Steakhouse at Formosa Gardens Shopping Centre and Friendlys both 192 and bottom end of I-Drive. :flower:

Both Race Rock on I Drive and Sci Fi in MGM are fantastic settings for a meal. We thought Race Rock food was better (Both is kind of burgers/fries/sandwiches - but not the McD type!) but want to go back to both next time we're there.
One word of warning - if you order dessert in Race Rock SHARE!!! I got choc fudge cake, me DH, DD and DS all had a go at it and still had to leave some!

We booked a table (car!) in Sci Fi just after lunchtime for around 4pm the same day last september, but I would book ahead if its busy to make sure you get a car and not just a table.

Golden Corral is behind the Harley Davidson shop just before Sandlake Road intersection, we had a couple of really good meals here, we went around 9PM and it was quieter than early evening.

With a group of 11 you may have to call "group dining" , definately I'd recommend making some sort of reservations. The Sci Fi doesn't have a huge inventory and with 11 you'd need to take out two cars for your group. IMHO you have nothing to lose by making the reservations, if that's definately where you're going to eat on that day.

With a large group it's going to be difficult just to walk up and get tables at popular restaurants. Cheesecake factory is excellent at the Mall at the millenium.

A lot of the restaurants have websites. I would suggest you give all the people travelling links to those websites and see what restaurants get universal agreement. IMHO any restaurant that you all want to visit and that takes reservations I would plan ahead of time.

You can show your knowledge best by explaining that Orlando is a very busy place, it's a very busy year and if your friends want to have the best experiences possible they will need to do some planning to ensure that is what happens. If they (you plural) then choose to "wing it" you have at least explained the situation correctly and if you do face long waits at restaurants it was a decision that they participated in.

It's going to need planning to get the family days/evenings together so I'd try to include planning the dining as well.

If you like burgers try Jungle Jims at Crossroads, Lake Buena Vista for over 60 different choices of burger. :teeth:

Nothing to add to the list but thanks for starting the thread. I have just made a note of the recommended restaurants to try. :)

outback yes would call prior to going there are 11 of you they will then accomadate you we have done this for partys of 11. on the go chick-a-fill when you get sick of burgers .the food court at florida mall wide range we go for the chinese .If at downtown disney earl of sandwitch ,rainforest cafe (make yourself a member you get a discount only for 3 or 4 but you get the first available table for the 11 of you) there is a nice tex-mex at the crossroads neer disney.the posh macdonalds on sandlake road just past the I4 ramp on the left.AKL bomas the prime rib mouth watering thinking about it .Tony romas on a monday night for the all you can eat ribs special. The pig sandwitch at the hard rock cafe wont break the bank but the best one on thre menu. for ice cream try dairy queen for there blizzards makes a macflury look very small ,gihardillies at the downtown disney tip keep the recipet and get 10% of next time still got one for when we go in augst ready. for brekfast we tend to go light krispy kreem dounuts from 7-11 to walmart lot of places sell them or a large blueberry muffin with a cup of coffe
Paulh
when i can think of some more i will let you know :)

We stayed in Hampton Lakes and enjoyed the chinese delivered from China 1. We had this one evening when we were tired and couldn't be asked to go out. Only problem was that we ordered too much!!!!!

Whoo Hoo :cheer2: chinese takeaway on our doorstep!
